Eh, they crapped the bed against a bad Detroit team...it happens. They deserved a better fate last night and deserved exactly what they got tonight. - HawkintheD
And they found zero points as a result. Good teams don't "crap the bed" if there's something to play for...Hawks obviously don't give a sh%$ about the division race.
So F' em...I'm done caring until the playoffs if they're done caring. |

WGN keeps pumping Sunday's brunch match with the Wild as...
"a big game" for the Division.
These 2 bad loses put that idea to bed...holding second is all that matters now.
There are 2 reason's to watch Sunday's game.
* Can the Hawks rebound and play well following 2 bad loses.
* And staying healthy
Sunday's game means little else. - ArlingtonRob
Never over till it's over ,lot of hockey to be played .I believe the HAWKS will play a good game Sunday . ..GO HAWKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Great goalies (especially ones that are overpaid) bail their team out more often than not.... - bigfly46
Did you not watch the first 35 games this year? CC bailed the Hawks out every damn night.
Oh...and great goalies also win cups...
Lundqvist...nope
Price...nope
Holtby...not yet
Crawford...2 and counting
You don't need to be an overpaid hockey analyst to know that Hawks goaltending has had virtually nothing to do with any of the Hawk loses this season, and in fact bailed them out night after night after night.
Pointing a finger at CC is now, and will continue to be, an excercise in bu##s@&t. |

Compare the schedules...virtually no chance.
Hawks just flushed 4 points down the Eljer and with it their Division hopes (if they ever had any). |

I always look at the "out of town" scoreboard. And good teams lose to bad teams when good teams play like the Hawks did tonight.
The Wings looked good because
1.) the Hawks were a TO machine, stood around, didn't skate, couldn't string 2 passes together, and barely broke a sweat. And...
2.) the Wings DID break a sweat.
Forgot to mention the glorious Hawks PP which continues to inspire no one. |

Crawford is pretty damn awesome and he's the least of the Hawks worries.

Think I'd go with this set of forward lines.
14 19 38
72 8 88
13 15 81
11 16 22
8 as a centre for Panarin and Kane seems potentially dynamic based upon the very short sampling size I had seen.
13 ... he's in the line up for 4 more games no matter what, and I like the effort Tootoo and Des Jardins has shown when put on the same line.
Once the 4 addl games are up, pick 67/70 unless 13 starts showing something more than being a generic forward. It doesn't mean that I am anti-Jurco, but it is more about maybe more time in adjusting to the system is needed if he is on the roster going in to next season. - steve-hist-sdc
If Q were going to break up the PAK line that could work. I'd still sit Tootoo for Rasmussen. After 4 more game starts I'd sit Jurco for Kero too, if not then I'd sit Desjardins for Kero.

Hawks phoned in another game last night...meanwhile Wild and Blues won. Can't be too upset with the team after having won 12 out of 14, but the Ducks game should be a little concerning with the formula of pushing the Hawks to the outside.
Oduya and Hammer sat last night with a back to back - just being cautious.
Meanwhile the Hawks were killed again at the dot last night... Still wondering why Bowman didn't make a move for a vet center at the TDL. |

No big deal, it happens in an 82 game season and yes good teams do occasionally have bad games even when there is something to play for.
Not sure how you lumped the ANA game in with this game as "bad". If the Hawks played Friday the way they did Thursday the result would likely have been different.
Home ice would be nice but who really cares about winning the Central Div. |

Careful. You'll get blasted like I did bringing up he thought of taking Schmaltz off the 1LW spot cause it worked so well for 5-6 game run. 3C or 4C center would be better. Jurco either needs a chance at 1LW or he hits the press box and it's likely the latter.

Exactly. Get off CC. Hawks lost 60% of FO up until the last few mins and again had very few quality SOG. |

Kane was directly responsible for 2 if not 3 of the Wings goals. |

Agreed 100 %
Since JO arrived and is on a conditioning journey , tottoo starts all the time and
70 is benched all the momentum from the streak is out the window.

If we win we'll be one point back. ONE!

I am record next to kane that CC is their MVP since the 2012-13 season...hawk team d has been weaker since that season...last year i think he lead the league in high quality scoring chance save%...top 3 in 5 on 5 save%..top 3 in shoot out save %...
he gets sniped by perry as waltzs in the slot 15 feet away in 1-0 game and CC is the reason they lost...unadulterated bull***t

He knows it and took responsibility for the loss on himself

Little Patty Kane wasn't the only reason for the loss but you have to respect his willingness to accept some responsibility. On another note it seems like every time Schmaltz plays with Kane there is something there. Is there any chance that Nick could see a little more centre duties down the stretch here if nothing more than to give Q's blender some more data? |

2 of Kane's turnovers resulted directly in 2 of the Wings goals. I love Kaner and am thrilled he's on the Hawks but he makes some bad decisions every now and then and although he wasn't totally responsible for the loss last night he was at the top of the list of players who played poorly last night. |

I may sign up just to listen to Wiz call people out Are you planning on calling often Wiz? - eagle50
You know me, I always feel like there is a deeper content level that these guys should know...some do, and use it.
...and it drives me nuts when these radio folks are suppose to be more than fairly knowledgable about all the players, the team situations, and the why's some moves and things happen.
I really have trouble with thsi weekend guy they have...he seems to be on the air for a 7 hour stretch on Saturday.
I have a sneaking feeling that he started as some late night /all night radio guy who gets payed to take up time between calls by creating topics that he wants to get folks to call in about these really trivial aspects.
He's the guy that simply loves DOGS...he has a segment the "dog of the day"...if you know his name.
Look...it bothers me that all you affluent first world citizens who hate all the aspects of the welfare system, and unfortunates but you mfs have three dogs.
Dont get me wrong...as a kid had dogs, as an adulthad Cats, and my daughter while in hospital brought home a ferret I inherited when she went to college.
but, honestly I turn that Sirius on for the time I drive, and am not happy when time is wasted on animals or hockey fluff.
and this guy bothers me, because he NEVER seems to take an opinion, more willing to blab both sides and weigh things out, as it uses more time up.
so maybe just maybe five times I have ben in the car when this guy IS NOT ON and actually want to contribute, usually to correct them or try and stir their conversation to what I think is more important or more fruitful path of discussion...
