I don't watch jets games so I just don't understand how they are not a playoff team every year, especially this year. They are big and skilled have legit all Star players.

I see mods are deleting comments. Even mine saying lets not group each other and be Richards to each other. Oh well. Everyone better stop talking politics (even though most of us are saying reasonable things about not being rude to each other) or we'll be suspended.

A lot of that's fine for this year. But you got a lot of young talent coming through that'll start wanting decent money long term. There's a chance it'll be fine but I still would prefer more wiggle room with the cap.

Also don't count on the cap going up every year. Players sound ready to stop raising it cuz it's costing them union dollars. Not sure how it all works but they hate the current CBA it sounds cuz the teams arent making enough money to raise the cap naturally so players pay extra to raise it so they can get paid more.

- Zac_O

Well it's a cap league. So that is designed to create parity. If you are constantly a cup team your guys will get expensive.

I don't believe that is right on the cap. Players still get their money it's just put into escrow. If league revenue comes in expected they get the money. Have we seen a year where revenue comes on low and some of the escrow went back to the league? It's annoying for them but at the end of the day they are likely to get most of their money back. I think it would take a financial crisis to really cause revenues to fall off trend. Anyone if the cap keeps increasing then we should be able to sign most of our guys. If not then someday we will have to do a saad trade but honestly that's likely because our young guys are producing which is a good problem to have.

Football and hockey are similar in how physical they are. Having played both I am familiar with the biblical justice that goes on in both. An eye for an eye kind of thing. In other words, you hurt our guy now we are going to get you back. In football a lot of it is done sneakily, either in a pile up or a quick punch while on the line during a play. In hockey it is more visible so it's hard to be sneaky. Sometimes when it happens it's a fight that is for 'justice'.

We may not like it but there is no fighting or not much in football. It could be the same in hockey but that would only encourage it to be done on the sly. Just my two cents.
BTW when you look up the word fight in the dictionary it is synonymous with fun. Remmember when fight was screamed in the schoolyard we didn't run away. We ran to see who was fighting. We are by nature attracted to the event.

I like fighting in hockey... when it's real. When it's two players who get heated and go at each other in the passion of the moment that's awesome and it's part of the game.

That being said the code is dumb. Games should be properly officiated in order to reduce injury. Malkin should have been penalized for his hit on wheeler and the fact that he wasn't only encourages him to dole out cheap shots like he does every now and then (love the guy but it's true). That little beating he got from Wheeler isn't going to do that because now that he's given the code it's due he doesn't have to fight again for a long time. Being sent to the penalty box over and over again will.

Who can we call up tonight to go after Mcdavid? Maybe take out a knee, broken wrist? At the very least some stitches.

Hasnt malkin had a bunch of 100 plus pim seasons? He could care less about the penalty box bud. I say just keep (frank)ing guys up and if you have to fight once a season so be it. He should ask sestito atleast how to protect himself though.

While I slightly agree that Enstrom turned into it, Sestito had way more intent coming in fast for a hit (which was going to be shoulder to shoulder until he turned) then Buffs routine rub along the boards. Buffs play happens 10 times a game and no one gets hurt, but buff being as big as he was caused some damage.
- j.boyd919

Come on man he completely turned his back last second. While Tom should have done his best to slow down there was going to be contact no matter what. Sestitos intent to make a body check has nothibg to do with it. I really dont think a guy that was trying to fight 265 buff all night went on the ice and saidto himself im really gonna (frank) up that little d man. All the blame on that play is on Endstrom not being very smart. Someone should tell him hockey can be dangerous.

Why are people acting like Seisito pulled a Simon or McSorley. It was a bad hit, yes. Enstrom partially did it to himself though. If Wheeler or Scheifle threw that hit there likely would have been no suspension.

The last time the Pens played vs the Jets two of their D men were injured. They knew going into this one that someone was going after Malkin. Say what you want but Seisito obviously had an impact in this game and the Pens won.

You have no issue with the hit that hurt Maatta? The Jets played on the edge and over the edge most of the last game. What did this think was going to happen this game? When Sestito was dressed, I told my buddy no chance he makes it out of the 1st period. He has one thing to do, and he did it. Like it or not, he served his purpose. To me, the Sestito hit is equal to the hit on Maatta, Jets fans can cry all they want, they knew it was coming.

That was the Lowry hit, Buff's hit was on Schultz against the boards.

Who should it be?

Is there a such thing as emergency call ups this time of year? say for instance Fleury or Murray go down. Can Jarry be called up if the 5 callup limited is filled?
