D'oh forgot Brown. Loved your forward combos. Though Nielsen might be that someone, in a lesser role that you're looking for. |

You really think switching out bozak, komarov and jvr for orlov and the rooks (many of them having played in the NHL before), and our super rookies being a year older means we miss the playoffs? |

That was what I found difficult about doing my lines...hard to do them without knowing what we get for the players I moved. So i played it safe and went Orlov. |

We'll see how the next 5 games go. they play 5 non-playoff teams they should win at least 3 and FLA/TB are huge games

I know, in fact, I'm impressed that its even taken me till March 7 to start doing lines for next season! Last year I was doing these in November! |

Yes.....probably, the next 18 games will be an interesting bromomiter, but either way their defense needs fixing and brining in more rooks is not the answer imho ,if they could sign a vet and trade for a twenty somthing in the off season then that will be the greatest improvement ,again imho |

Depends if he signs an extension before the expansion draft I guess. I thought he was ufa this season, not rfa. |

Thats the thing though, this years rooks won't be rooks next year.
As for d, I find most AHL d either make the jump after their first complete AHL season, with maybe a little second season seasoning (hehe) or don't really amount to anything other than 4, 5, 6s. |

Maybe I shouldn't listen to Craig Button regarding Orlov?
According to the rules of the expansion draft, the Capitals can protect seven forwards, three defensemen, and one goaltender, and Pat argued back in June that they should protect Orlov.
One thing Pat said back then is worth repeating: “The only tough decision for me came down to Dmitry Orlov vs. Karl Alzner. The Caps are likely to lose whichever of these two they leave unprotected and there’s really no good option here. The loss of either player will be a tough pill to swallow.”
But both Orlov and Alzner aren't signed for next season.....man the expansion draft confuses the (frank) out of me. |

Their d prospects are good and project to be nhlers, but their not dominating by any means ,and I don't see the leafs rushing them! To many forwards so I see them moving two for d help and probably sign a free agent, and Gardiner bye bye!!! |

i'm not sure why the caps are likely to lose alzner in the expansion draft as a ufa. alzner would have to agree to contract with vegas before the draft, otherwise it's a wasted pick.
there's a pretty big if with any ufa. |

I know you;re out of touch old timer, but Leaf nation have become a very patient bunch. Ferguson, Burkey and Nonis changed us. That and the Blue Jays filled the void |

5-6M for a soon to be 29 year-old 3/4 defensive dman …. I’d stay out of that bidding war if the price is in that neighborhood. |

Leafs should trade Nylander this offseason to get help on D.
That's all what's in between Leafs and the Stanley Cup win |
