I think an inch offside is ridiculous to call back a goal. the issue, and the reason they can't change it, is where do you draw the line? needs to be this way if that play is challengable.

I liked the idea of coaches getting to challenge, but if the challenge fails they get a delay of game penalty.

This could work, but Nylander will be in the corner. Mathews is a front of the net finisher.




Marner works best with the puck on his stick. He is not a finisher. This only works if Leivo can finish. He has the shot but can he get open?


What exactly make Bozak and JVR better together? I think I heard between them they have 4 goals since Feb 1? Not exactly sure how much worse they can get apart. Soshnikov is not exactly a sniper himself. I would project zero goals from this line, and probably a -10 rating in 18 games.

Sosh has played 4th line routinely and still drives possession. JvR just needs to be around the net for the rebounds. No comment on Bozak.
Kadri is on pace for 30 and Leivo can play net front presence.
Also Mitch can finish too.

I like Ferraros position on this.
If it's not easy to tell if it's offside and you can't make a quick conclusion then it's not offside.
But looking at super slow motion replay for 10 minutes is a waste of time and takes away from it being a hockey game.

That works for me. I just don't see how that close of an offsides affects a goal or not. Especially when the goal happens like 20 seconds later

Now they see its a pain in the ass, delays the game and would rather live with it..its funny how that changed.

Looking at this makes me sad. We need at least 2 very good d-men. Also you forgot Zaitsev

We only need 3D then. Gardiner, Zaitsev and Reilly.

I guess unless they can do some sort of tracking of the puck and have it be automatic (if that even possible) there is no real perfect solution.

Each players skatea gets a chip in it. If one isnt registered outside the zone when the puck goes over the line, lighr xomes on.

Or nhl 99 plays "offside.. Dont you know the rules"
