Ya he is now.. But the Lucic who broke in to the league was a pain in the ass to play against plus he could play top 6. Would love to have a big guy who hits, fights and scores goals.

If you can trade Edler then maybe move him but if Edler is staying yeah move Tanev before NTC - VANTEL
I think we prioritize Tanev, he will be any coach's crutch for big minutes (plus learning from the mistake of not moving Edler before a NTC).
At least now the perception of Edler isnt that hes a top D, there is opportunity for the role to be taken. I feel Tanev is perceived as much more reliable. Edler can still help for the next couple seasons, his deal expires earlier than Tanev's too
TL said they would be looking for stop-gap type UFA's, clear out Tanev and Edler and bring in a Trevor Daley or Brian Campbell (or another elder D in trade return) to help reduce the workload on the kids but make sure in 2 years they are positioned to be paid and played appropriately - WhiteLie

Several contracts expire at the end of June, lots of room...college free agents can't be signed until August 15th I believe as per the CBA.

the Aug 15th deadline is only for the loophole for guys like Justin Schultz who are drafted by another NHL team.
guys who were never drafted can be signed at anytime.
If truly this is a rebuild then cap & contract space r good to have.
Have to play all the angles for a year or 2.
We r maxed on our 3 contract buyouts for 1 more season.

Edit: I would still take Pedan. I don't think Vegas is going to grab a contract to do teams a favour unless rewarded. We aren't/ shouldn't be in a position to consider that anyways.
