I don't think he's pinning the bottom finish on LE, just saying that you wouldn't hand out that kind of deal if you think you're near the bottom of the league.

As for Virt and McCann, i'd say half the reason for the attitudes is the entitlement that follows being handed a roster spot at their age.

- golfingsince

Fair point but regardless of where the powers that be 'think' we are going to finish the team still needs to try to get better in some capacity…and signing UFA's are part of that process. We may not agree with the salary hit but there were many other teams looking at Eriksson for pretty much the same money…it is what it is. If he is a bust after next season Benning can work it out.

I think it would make a great article if they took other famous athletes and see what they look like transgendered up.

William Perry would make me giggle.

In one of the old blogs he was touted as the next Jerome Iginla.

Nick Ritchie looks like a much much better pick right now. Like way way better as of right now.

Budding power forward doesn't mean fighter. I don't expect Rick Nash or Jamie Benn to fight either.

Both those guys don't use their size enough. Both could dominate this league if they had a different personality. Same goes for joe Thornton.

Any Team with cap space, owner willing to spend, will do that if they can convince a free agent to sign with them. It's a free asset. Why not when there are no prospects to take the roster spot. Sure JB knew they could easily finish at the bottom. But if your team has a chance to play meaningful games in the season and compete that helps with development. What good would a season like the Avs have had do for this Nucks team?

Because that's kind of what we do here. It's all in jest.

Some people forget that.

While looking through the archives in 2015 I found a Lefty quote saying Benning is doing a good job. Oh how things have changed.

I'm terrified if Booner was actually able to find something that contradicts my stance now. I've said a lot of stupid poop on this site.

On the defensive side, all he does is wave his stick in the direction of the guy with the puck. Even worse, he is exiting the zone before a teammate even has full control of the puck. I can see why now he doesn't have very many goals but has a large amount of shots. They aren't very dangerous. I hope that is just a bad game.
- manvanfan

Yeah he's got work to do. One game measure not so great. But maybe the intensity is what it is a guy resigned to the fact he's not going anywhere this season.

Well it's a team game so what he's not going to look great playing with that group. Positive side he hit some guys. Took the puck to the net and had a couple shot attempts. But it's not a highlight real.

It's hard watching the comets so a guy like JV just kind of looks out of place. He seems not sure what will work. So is it hockey IQ, intensity, confidence or all three hard to say. Why they got him there to figure it out.

Though I wonder if they could spare a call up would that do him good to play with Bo and Sven again?

The Guddy trade is what killed it for you. I can see that. There are pros and cons to it. But I get it. We never got a real chance to see what Guddy can mean for this team and the young talent coming in. Maybe next season is different. Hard to say with Sedins around. But now without Burr and Hansen he will be a bigger locker room and on ice presence.

Signing a cheap Vet would be helpful. Allow Boeser and the rest of the 20 year olds to win in Utica. Ensure the tank is on for another season.

I know this sounds a little harsh but for the rest of the year I would go with the Kids .

I would sit Eriksson out 15 of the next 19 games apologize to Mr Aquillini about wasting his money and reduce the twins ice time to 10 min a night.

It will give you a good idea of what you have with the kids.
It might agitate LE enought to waive his NMC
It might make the twins ask for a trade . This one is not that important but it is time to start cutting back their ice time and make this team less reliant on them.

So we could sign Dahlen today if we wanted seeing he doesn't have a contract

That trade did annoy me to no end, you don't need to spend those kind of assets to acquire a guy with Gudbranson's skill-set....or lack of.

Water under the bridge now...

I'm not going to abuse the archive. The ugly stuff needs to stay in there but I do like the little gems like you claiming Granlund was a bust when he was traded here.
