Even without Raff and Konecny, I love the balance I saw in the lines. The defense pairs too, especially without Streit. The balance might come from Filppula being added.

I personally feel like maybe they should work on the 5 on 3 PP because they've done very little with the last few. Also Filppula is a vet. There is no need to "work him in". You've got Jordan Weal and Nick Cousins out there, an upgrade was clear early. Power Play looks good though.

Mason allows one goal in two games after a long layoff. The real test will be Saturday. Very excited for Saturday.

Six weeks left until we don't have to hear the name "Steve Mason" again. Or, be told that a shutout against the worst team in hockey or a one goal performance against a mediocre team at home puts him among the elite goaltenders in the NHL.

They are literally on every team, Filpula was a good move for us. Cooter is clearly not a 2C and Val can be that guy this year and next year until we figure it out long term. I'm starting to think Couterier is just really bad. Stone hands and the only thing he has going is a good defensive stick.
