So in the Stanley Cup finals, you want to put a Jeopardy like timer on a goal that can decide the cup?
I want them to get the call right, if that means installing new cameras or getting better technology, so be it
They can do the same with the puck and the goal line as well. something like a chip in the puck and on the goal line to know for sure even if its under a goalie or in his equipment if it went in or not. - MiloslavHorava
I dunno...the NFL doesn't follow it's own rule about reviews? |

The Offside rule is the same rule it was last year the year before and the year before that. People are upset because it is getting enforced by the letter of the rule now??
Jesus stop whining about it!! Its a black and white rule.
If the Rangers were on the other end of that call and we won a game becuase fo it everyone here would be smiling and having a circle jerk about how the rule is the rule.
People here need to grow up and stop complaining about black and white stuff.
Its the SAME rule for every team, the rangers aren't getting screwed or treated unfairly. Perhaps take a look at why players are going offsides or they aren't dragging their back skate if they know its close. - MiloslavHorava
Agreed. That was a tough situation due to the length of time killing the momentum, but every one of those guys knows the rule. The rule is not the problem. Grabs has to keep that skate on the ice and he knows it.
The real problem is how they let themselves get manhandled and had no push back. Washington got more confident as the game went on because no one ever tried to stop them from getting in our faces.
And AV and Co. should be sending a video package to the league. If that hit by Ovie wasn't charging (causing an injury) than I don't know what is. Clear as day. |

I have said many times, the only thing I want reviewed is goals. I would leave the rest of the game up to the ref, good or bad.

I agree and while it took way too long to come up with the decision, the right decision was made. That being said, its a bs rule and I wish they would get rid of the offsides review. The rags players skate being 1 inch in front of the puck had no bearing on the goal...most of the offsides calls don't |

I thought he knocked Stepan's plugs out last night.... I got worried, Step looked scared - MiloslavHorava
I think he couldn't breathe. Always a scary feeling. I was calling for them to send him right to the room and start the concussion protocol instead of waiting for one of the league snitches to tell them he had to go. But, then he looked fine. |

I'll take Tom Wilson
a) So we don't have to play against him and have our guys looking over their shoulders all game
b) so people will know if they step out of line we have a madman who will make them answer the bell
c) the guy has some decent skill, size, speed and can score a bit, while mucking it up
Give me Wilson, Fast, and Lindberg on our 4th line.
Too bad the Caps will never trade him to the Rangers. - MiloslavHorava
We have Tanner Glass languishing in Hartford who doesn't cost us any picks, prospects or players. |

I'm surprised they didn't have him go to the quiet room. He looked like he had no clue where he was |

Exactly. If the linesman misses a skate in the air and wasn't a blatant offsides that led to a goal, let it go. Enough with the nit picking video review. This is slowing down the game to hand-egg levels. |

And although he provides nothing else, he doesn't take stupid penalties for being that type of player & certainly would not let Mr. Wilson just run around like he owns the Garden last night. |

Sometimes you benefit from the rule, and sometimes you don't. But, I absolutely hate the rule. Personally, I want to leave it to the linesman to make a bang bang offsides call on the ice, which has happened forever in the NHL. I can live with goals occurring when a guy is an two inches offside if the linesman doesn't get the call right.

Not that I want him in the lineup either, just pointing out there is some sandpaper not being used. - Fenrir
I think that ship has sailed, though with Glass. In the minors all season is not going to have anyone take you seriously on the ice for one that likes to talk/mix things up.
I've said it all season that this team was soft and some toughness was seriously needed before injuries happen to players. Well, injuries are happening and at the wrong time. How and why does nobody take a run at Ovie after his non-called charge? Were they too busy going after Wilson or Winnic? Oh wait, they didn't do that either. Pvssies. |

The difference between the NHL and the NFL is the NFL the plaayers needs Posession, that's where things get grey. If it was just did the ball cross the line, like hockey, did the puck or player cross a line it would be easier. Similar reviews in the NFL would be Reviewing Field Goals and Offsides, black and white scenarios where you have a defined line on the field of play to judge things agaist |

good amendment to the challenge rule for offsides calls would be whether the infraction directly led to the goal being scored. Grabner was offside and he eventually scored the goal, but he didn't score the goal because he was offside. |

Just scrap it all together.
That would take even longer, because once they finally decide if it was offside or not, then the ref will have to go through the rest of the video to make a judgement call. |

Pete, where do you draw the line? Duchense was offside by three feet and the call was missed, thats why the league put the rule in place, to make up for human error. So now do you add in a grey area and say less than a foot is ok, but two feet needs to reviewed? |
