PLEASE! GOD! NO! BISHOP!
sign one of the 2 goalies they currently have, to a 2 year deal. Stolie and whom ever they retain duel it out over the next 2 seasons. - ggunky
I could live with that, but, at this point, I've really had my fill of Mason and Neuvirth. I think Neuvirth is injury prone and somewhat inconsistent and I'm really starting to question Mason's mental toughness. I wouldn't miss either of them.

One of the young goalies could progress in 3 years or so, to the point where they're ready to take the net. I guess if it's only for 4 years I could live with it, but I have doubts he would sign for only 4 years. Like you said though the market could be limited but it only takes one other team to outbid you. - MJL
True. I'm not all out on Bishop by any means, there are other options. |

No way, trade for Bishop, Landeskog, Duchene, and Pekka Rinne then this team will competent again. - Mordecai

I agree, we could see Schultz just added to the lineup, and the young defenseman kept right where they are. - MJL
My guess is that if a dman is moved, which I think is likely, they will bring up Hagg. They need to at least get one of the kids some NHL experience this season and if they are using Morin/Sanheim as their shutdown pairing, Hagg would be the logical guy. This would still leave the Phantoms with:
Sanheim
Morin
Alt
Brennan
O'Neill
Wilcox
That should be a capable top 6 and Hagg would most likely be back for the playoffs as well. |

I'd like to see Schultz traded to a contender even if its for "futures" to give him that one last shot to win. He seems like a good guy. - nastyflyergirl
Works for me, not sure if anyone wants him though. |

I am in the same boat. Neither, to me, is a difference maker.
I still would rather ride with one of the 2 current guys over paying a goalie like bishop a massive amount for 4+ years.

I would disagree that they need to at least get one of the kids some NHL experience this season. I don't see that as a need.

A need? No, I suppose it's not a need. However, I really want to avoid having 2, 3 or even worse, 4 rookie Dmen all coming up at the same time. The organization has recently said that they feel like Hagg is ready. I have to think they see Morin as being pretty close too. Sanheim could also be pushing for a spot at some point next season.
I don't want to start next season with 2 rookies on D, without at least one of them getting 15-20 games down the stretch this year. Ideally, Hagg gets those games, and Morin starts with the team in October. Sanheim and Myers could then get top pair minutes with the Phantoms with Sanheim maybe getting a call up or 2 at some point during 17-18. |

So would I, unless it's something like Mason and a 3rd. If they want any more than that, wait til free agency. - BiggE
exactly. the nonsense EK is talking about has the Flyers trading a dman prospect. I'd lose my mind |

If one of them comes up and plays 15 NHL games, is that going to make a big difference, to the point where they're not a rookie next season? I think that is far more about what the fans want. I think Hextall is going to let the Phantoms make a run at, which will figure into the decision making in my opinion.

Hextall can do both....If he does sell, which in my mind is a no brainer, then he should give some of the kids a little look. They can go back at anytime. It's not like the flyers are going to make the playoffs. |

He could, but I think he is going to be hesitant to break up the Phantoms once he figures the Flyers are out of the playoff hunt. Now if he thinks the Flyers are still in it, and need a player, he won't hesitate.

I just don't see the issue....the whole point to every guy playing in the A is to get to the NHL. I think it sends a great message to the guys down there, that if you play well you'll get a shot. Hopefully the phantoms have a deep run, if not simply for the development of some of the top prospects. |

I do have to admit I do not like a lot of the current players....maybe that's why I hope Hextall moves a bunch of guys out. |

I'm here too. If they want to keep one so be it but I'd rather they sign a more steady guy for two years to have Stolarz backup and learn from. |

Even thought they don't have a say, I think some of those players might want to stay with the Phantoms for a playoff run, on the team they've been on all season. We'll see what happens.

Saw the Phantoms lost 5-3 the other day. With all the defensive prospects playing there and 2 of our top goalie prospects you would think they wouldn't keep giving up a bunch of goals. Havent seen all the games but they all seem to be high scoring games. |

I think its most important for the prospect. Getting 15-20 games in a low pressure environment would get their feet wet for the speed of the game up here and would absolutely be a benefit to them to have that experience/confidence going into next year |
