Same with a game a saw about a month ago

I thought he was a LW also, but I guess not?

Other teams often build up their D without trading their best players to do it. I mean trading is usually done by trading from an area of strength to improve a weakness. LW is not a strength.

Agreed, because they were able to draft them. But at this point its unlikely that will be an option. We're probably looking at our last top 10 pick for some time and im not all that confident in this years class of d-men. You could trade the pick, and a few prospects maybe that peaks someones interest but anyway you slice it i think they're going to have to pay up in a trade, the window to draft/develop one is basically shut.

IMO, Johnson gets moved. He's been wildly inconsistent for a few years now

I agree he isnt. Thats what begged the question, if he were to be available... like drouin mite be would that be enough? I dont think they want to take on another 5+mil defensemen, they are over 59m next year already and still have to sign johnson, palat, drouin, a backup goalie, boyle, and 2 more defensemen. Dont think they have the space or would even want bogo for that matter.

but then the need is for 2 d men for sure that can play top 4 and I don't see the toys to get that back in trades

And it's been over 80 games
That 3rd line in particular that u have likely won't score much

I know there is that saying about too many cooks in the Kitchen but I don't think that applies to Centers in Hockey. So I would agree. You want Center/Winger hybrids.

That twitter account is a farce; but if the Sabres were going to trade for Flyers D Provorov would not be their 2nd choice, he'd be 1st over Gostisbeher.
