That is true I would do it at the draft that trade if we don't win the lottery .. but in my personal opinion of Watching both Nico and drouin, Nathan MacKinnon, ehlers all with Halifax Nico is better than all

Drouin is already an NHL'er, no guarantees with an 18 yo in his first year of NA hockey. Even lighting up the Q is no guarantee of future success. Tampa might not want our pick if they know it's going to be around 10, let the Bolts speculate about the value of the pick while we take a left shooting LW off their hands to play with Eichel.

You can give up nylander etc but not the first I feel if we win the draft lottery we could either pick that player or we can trade that pick for a massive amount maybe to the Phoenix Coyotes desperate for anything

I don't think that's a surprise, he said in an interview after the season he was looking to get out of Buffalo and be a FA

Agreed, but the first might tip the scale considering the trade is inside the division. I'm warming to your Sam for Drouin and Erne proposal just because the idea of Drouin on Eichel's wing leaves me with visions Bert and Rico or Patty and Alex.

I can't really comment on your last part because I've never seen them play lol but I was thinking like more like for me Martin st. Louis with Stamkos

But you are correct about the first round pick it could tip the scales I'm hoping they offer the second round pick first and see what they say

I think you should buy $100 worth of Powerball tickets today. Your confidence in the luck of the draw is absurd. Maybe if we win we can draft Batman, wouldn't that be great?

I don't know about trading Nylander. I think patience is important with our talented 1st round picks. He just had a great WJT and was rated #2 in best players not in the NHL on TSN by, I know, it was Craig Button's list.

The good news is starting next year, I think Ottawa and MTL will be nothings, bad news is we still have TB, FLA, and Toronto in the division

IMO, Johnson gets moved. He's been wildly inconsistent for a few years now

`I totally forgot about Campbell, which strengthens my point that there isn't a huge difference in the old core. Personally, as an overall D I'd take Risto due to size and age. Your statement about Kane and power but leaving out his speed is perplexing. I think if Kane could be signed then trading Reinhart for a change in the core could improve it.
- GilPerreault11

Because the talk about kane has always been that he's this rare breed of power forward and my point was the emphasis on building a team with those guys is gone, its all about speed now. And while you might not be able to replace his "power game" im sure they can find a guy who can skate just as fast as he can. Im not opposed to moving Reinhart for a d-man, but if any forwards being moved first its the guy who was not too long ago considered a huge disappointment. Im not sure hes the kind of player you want to give 6x6 or more to.

It allows for a great deal of rearranging the deck chairs without addressing the need for a top pair LHD.

I think you need a mix of different types of players who bring different elements to the game. An all small fast team will get you nowhere fast. Darcy tried that, very stupidly. The average size of NHL forwards is 6'1" 202 pds; D 6'1" 209. Kane has size, is fast and has skill and can play physical. I'm not opposed to trading Reinhart for the best deal on the table be it a D or an upgrade in speed and skill at forward if another insignificant piece has to be tossed in.
