What do you see Hextall doing with MacDonald, Read, and Wiese at the deadline? - PLindbergh31
Likely getting no offers for Amac/Weise and trying to trade Read if he gets an offer of a 3rd or better. Because he's the werzt GM everzz. |

You know that there is a very real possibility that nobody wants to trade for one of our goalies. Thats really possible. - jak521
In the last eight years, I haven't wanted anything in the free agent market since Kimmo Timonen and Danny Briere but teams have needs whether you're high on a player or not. |

Sure, but these guys aren't new. The league knows what they are and what they're capable of. I doubt that a good game or two, or even a clunker or two, or not getting recent starts from either one is going to change anyone's mind about them. - Scoob
No question. The league knows Mason and Neuvirth. As do we as fanatics. To me, I ask myself, do I want a starter or a maybe starter? Mason in my opinion is still a starter and if we trade him, we're risking another couple of Philadelphia flip flopping in net by taking a chance on Neuvirth moving forward, especially if he doesn't workout. So far Mason has workout out. |

Who is to say we keep either of these swiss cheese style goalies.
I say get rid of them both, get some other journeyman and start the youth movement with one of our 6 or 7 "PROSPECTS". Maybe someone is like Hexy who came up prematurely and thrived at NHL level.
Right now our goalies are just barely NHL caliber goalies. |

I really don't even want Bishop. I do like Drouin a lot though. - Mordecai
Bishop is a great play imo. Value down due to rough year injury wise. He's much better than what we got |

I agree with most of this, but keep in mind that Hakstol's job is to try to win hockey games, and he's the one making lineup decisions. If he thinks that playing Neuvirth every game gives the team a better chance to win, then he should do it. - jmatchett383
No disagreement. So I ask you, let's say Mason gets traded at the deadline. Neuvirth has gotten all the starts since the 11th of this month. I already think he's due for a break before the glass man shatters himself again. Should Mason get traded, Neuvirth already has along head start on starts. Do you trust Neuvirth from now to the end of the year? |

Soon we will add another outdoor loss feather to our hat!
Eventually we will be the worst outdoor team ever.

So how do the Flyers meet all the requirements for the Expansion Draft, specifically having a goalie that is signed for 17-18 if both our guys are UFAs? Seems like there has to be something done to make sure they meet the requirements...also as far as D and forwards who do they protect? 8 overall, or 7 and 3? They young guys don't count so I think you leave some of these guys on the team to meet the exp draft requirements? thoughts? |

It doesn't matter who we leave unprotected. The likelihood of that Flyer getting picked by Vegas is slim.
There isn't anyone in our exposed potential pool is not expendable or I would be sad to lose.

You really think Mason was gonna hold Edmonton at home to 2 goals or less? He couldn't manage that against Carolina or the Islanders after the AS break, and playing poorly in those games is how he ended up benched. - Feanor
Yes I think Mason could've given them a better chance to win than Neuvirth did on that given night. He held Washington to 2 goals in the same stretch you called him out for under performing in. |

They have to pick someone from each team...I think the guys that are exposed are Weise, Raffl and manning...the one I don't see us being able to cover is the goalie and there is some sort of penalty for not meeting all of the rules for eligible guys... |

They'll make a move to expose a goalie that isn't Stolarz. And right now, Manning would be protected.
They'll be exposing about a dozen guys in the end. |

I beg to differ. I would not be happy if they left Ghost, Simmonds, or Jake (for starters) unprotected. |

Bishop is 16-12-3 with a .911 save percentage and 2.55 goals-against average in 31 starts this season.
Those are not bad stats for a supposed down year coming off a vezina nomination.
If I'm Hex I'm all over this at the deadline...there shouldn't be a whole lot of competition for him. |

Only concern is the ~6M contract...We would have to swap contacts with tampa and I don't think they are in a position to do that unless they take the 5M of Streit...seems like this one will have several parts moving if it goes down to help the numbers on both sides...they have a large group of RFA to resign for next year as well... |
