Right now, I don't really think it matters much which guy is in goal If a single most unpleasant surprise of the 2016-17 season to date had to be chosen, it would be the goaltending play. The goalie tandem was one of the Flyers' biggest assets a year ago. - bmeltzer
I agree. Any thoughts on which one is likely to be with the team next year? I wonder if they feel Stolarz isn't ready to be up next year if they don't end up keeping both, but that would be challenging as I'm sure both are looking for more than a very short-term deal.
4) ... By the way, for those of who who are going and pick up a game program, I wrote one of the articles that appears in the program.
Very cool! |

Glen Macnow authored a nice article on Lauren Hart and the legacy of her late father, legendary Flyers broadcaster Gene Hart, for Jersey Man Magazine. To read it, click here. - bmeltzer
I always liked him. One of my favorite memories of the one Wing Bowl I went to was him grabbing some kid by the back on the shirt and shoving him into the glass. Some smartass was on the floor being a Richard to a bunch of guys in the stands who wanted to pummel him, and Macnow wasn't having it. |

I can't see them keeping both, unless they want to allow LV take one (whether or not LV does is another story). At this point, I don't think either goalie can expect anything but a paycut, so it could be a cheap tandem. |

Very good article by Macnow on Gene and Lauren Hart.
It was just earlier this week, that I was telling my kids about a game I heard on the radio - I think it was in the early 80's - when, after a massive brawl, lots of guys' penalties expired all at the same time, and they came pouring out of the penalty box, Gene Hart started humming "The Teddy Bears' Picnic" as a way of describing the comical scene.
Gene was a great hockey announcer... I can't believe it's been almost 20 years since his passing. |

Picked a bad year to give the flyers a special out door game. If any team since 06 didn't deserve one, it's this team |

I think they need to dump one of the two goalies for whatever they can get, I would prefer to keep Mason and get Stolarz up playing some games. This season is going down the poopter in a hurry and might as well get Stolarz 5-10 games. Plus I would like to see Streit and MDZ get moved. Bring up Morin and Hagg for some games before returning them to the Phantoms for playoffs. |

That's what I think. They haven't been good, but with an improved team in front of them I think they're both fine for now. |

one of Roman Lyubimov or Matt Read is a healthy scratch.
Which continues to be insane when the worst player on the team the past three years remains in the lineup. |

Too many outdoor games now anyway. Have one on new year's day and ditch the rest. |

I agree, but I'd be okay with one WC and 1 HC. |

Okay, but get the HC done by end of January for weather reasons. Maybe it won't rain during Saturday's game but the temps today and tomorrow are ridiculous for hockey. |

And that is why, honestly, the NHL should not do outdoor games at all.
But $$$ |

Yes, $$$.
And growing the game.
I like the NYD (or Jan 2) game, but wouldn't lose any sleep if it went away. |

What do people make of Neuvirth knocking up Gudas' sister? Might be in his best interest if he enjoys living to be traded as soon as possible - xShoot4WarAmpsx
Why would it be an issue? Assuming he doesn't hate him, I'm sure Gudas doesn't have anything against Neuvirth. Also, not his place to say who she can/can't sleep with. |

PRO-gram
They way it's spelled. Like a kilogram (of superheated steam). |

Probably makes for some great one liners in the locker room. |
