The scheduling was disastrous this year. It's tough taking the standings seriously when there is such a disparity in games played.

I heard a suggestion that each team in a division should have their bye weeks at the same time, and the first couple of games back should be against divisional rivals.

That's right-my bad.

The NHL and NHLPA are looking at ways to alter the bye week. They are considering changing to a two week time frame. Half the conference one week, the other half the conference the next week, and have teams that are coming off a bye, to play each other.
