Please, not Burrows. Is Hansen still a fast skater? That could be useful.

I am still intrigued by the possibility of Eaves. Seems like he could be a good cost controlled add, and maybe even sign here over the summer.

Kinda harsh Feds? I have no issue with the Wings and their dynasty, hell the Hawks copied their blueprint themselves. But before you launch Holland, look around the league and think of the GM's around that could be mistaken for Moe, Larry or Curley.

I wonder what realistically the value of Kruger is right now. He is still outstanding defensively, but he can't take draws as of right now because of (another) wrist injury, and that's one of the huge pluses which makes him as valuable as he is. Without that, at 3 mil of another couple years producing negligible amounts of offense and playing a supremely taxing style game, I don't know how much value he has long term for a potential trade partner.

I don't think Eaves is a top 9 player...regardless of his career year. He could easily go the remainder of the year without a goal and it wouldn't be shocking

If they get him for nothing...fine. He'd be a solid 4th line/PK player at best

Well still some options here...

too bad on Palat...but the Bolts seem to be making a late push here.

So Hanzal remains out there. Hopefully they can get something done before the game tonight. 1st and a prospect get it done? Or more?

No on both Nucks...especially Burrows...the hairpuller - yikes.

Didn't Filppula and Babcock have issues? (as many players do with Babcock)...hence the reason he left and they gave Weiss the same money
- PatShart

Filppula was offered the same money from DET IIRC. His last season in DET he played through a shoulder injury. He was always a whipping boy for the fans. Never appreciated what he brought to the team until he was gone. He just preferred TBL over DET.

Berliner has played most of the year like an improved player and scorer and aggressive player, all the attributes of a player looking towards USA status and a salary more than the under four million he makes now.
- wiz1901

I'd pursue Berglund for 600K more a year then Hanzal. Doubt it happens, but IMO that's a no brainer.

Average skater with a good shot and good on the PK. He is a very solid 3rd line option imo.

I think he would be a solid 4th liner, pker at minimum. The potential is there to be able to slide up and down the lineup.

Vanek is still amazingly talented and with Toews and Hossa to carry the defensive responsibilities he would be very solid. Asking price should be a 1st at the very least though.

Maybe if he starts scoring goals-BTW he has only 4 goals since signing his extension.
- Al

The goals will come....

Point is you can't NOT budget for that next year if you're bowman.

maybe this one is better if you want that

- hawkss81

Careful now, we might end up with multiple lines with cool nicknames

Schmaltz/Toews/Panik (the STP line)
Panarin/Anisimov/Kane (the PAK or AK72 line--although the Russian rifles are really the AK47, 74, and 102)
Hartman/Hanzel/Hossa (the HHH line)
Rasmussen/Kruger/Kero/Hino/Desi/Tootoo (the cardiac kids line--apologies to the Cleveland Browns of the mid-to-late 1980s)

No. He has shown to disappear in the playoffs. Yes, he's been good for the Wings this year, but there's no way I would give up a 1st for him. A 3rd and a young D-man, sure.

I always like the Kane-GB line for line 2.

Agreed.

Q would lose his mind, and the 1st time Vanek steps in his own zone by choice will be the 1st time..........

Hes a mens league player in the NHL.........and guys here hated Versteeg but pine for Vanek?

Not true.

0.54 points per game in his playoff career.

Hanzal, Eaves, Vanek, maybe in that order sound like the big possibilities. Def the first two.

Is Hanzal a superstar? Heck no. Is he a MASSIVE body that can win face-offs, matchup against the opponent's top lines, win board battles, screen the goalie, and contribute some depth offense? YES! I think he would be a (literal and figurative) HUGE addition to the lineup, at the right price.
- EnzoD

This. The reality is, the Hawks aren't going to get a Palat or Duchene for Mark McNeil and a draft pick. Can they get a serviceable guy that can win faceoffs and give Hossa some help for some smaller assets? Yes. Plus, it's really hard to read a guys skills when he has played for a dumpster fire of a franchise his whole career. Guys tend to find another gear when they can actually see a real possibility of a cup.

I would be very unhappy if StanBo gave up a first for Vanek.
