Yup, like Vin said, its not a bad thing. Buch will get his chances and most likely be in the top 9 sooner than later. Christ its his rookie year.
Look it like a new pornstar. She isn't coming in her 1st year taking 12"s and doing group sex, anal etc.
I guess what I'm saying is give time, Buch will be doing anal before we know it. - mdw7413

Blues won't trade Shattenkirk this year just like the Rangers wouldn't have traded Yandle last year. They're a playoff team and only an overwhelming return would justify management trading a top-4 defenseman going into the playoffs. Although Yandle should have been traded and Shattenkirk should be traded, it's very unlikely given the circumstances. |

Yeah maybe but after losing Backes and Brower for nothing might not wanna take chance. Besides should get more for him now then in offseason. |

So angry on this. I get the PP has struggled but what had Pirri done before on the man advantage before he was scratched for NINE straight games to warrant getting back in? Nothing. Plus if wanted him in, why scratch him for NINE straight games. The PP has been horrible but you sacrifice playing a better winger just to get a supposed PP specialist in. Makes no sense at all. Pirri better score if they get a power play. - airjan23
JAN!!!
Love your passion here. but they have two options as I see it:
1) Blame the players on the PP units - Change the players which is what they are doing
2) Blame the coaches for not adjusting or devising better schemes
If you are the coach..... I think your decision is obvious. I'm not a gung-ho Pirri guy but maybe the need him to just keep shooting and shooting, if that doesn't working then its a coaching (Arniel) issue and they need to eat crow and change it up and admit it was their mistake. Its always easier to look everywhere else than to look in the mirror when assigning blame for your shortcomings.
Again, not agreeing or disagreeing with the move or thinking Pirri is some savior they just plug in and fixes everything, (lets see how it pans out), just giving my opinion on the motive and decision making.

Backes and Brower weren't traded last year for the same reason that Shattenkirk is unlikely to be traded this season (and the Blues were right not to trade them at the deadline because of how well they played in the post-season). Blues do those deals if they're not playoff bound, but if the trades don't return immediate help going into the post-season, GMs just don't want to make such deals. The question is not whether Shattenkirk should be traded at the deadline, but why wasn't he traded earlier in the season? Then they could have gotten a reasonable return on a player they knew they wouldn't re-sign. A playoff team that waits until the trade deadline to decide whether to offload a valuable soon-to-be UFA is guilty of poor asset management. |

Only reason I think this might be a little different, Blues are stacked on D. They really didn't have anything to replace Backes and Brower at the time. |

I hear ya maybe management feels like team has gotten as far ss they can and want to make some changes similar to Rangers although a little less successful in their playoff runs they have strong regular season but cant get the cup. |

I seriously doubt the Rangers trade for Shattenkirk. They won't sign him to an extension, otherwise they'd have to protect him in the expansion draft. Why not hold onto what they'd have to give when they can get him for nothing but a new contract. |
