For all the trade purposal's I've seen on here. I've never seen one where Van takes back a bad contract or someone they would need to protect.

Seen that Arizona and Toronto taking on a bad contract isn't worst thing in the world and gets a trade done.

Do you have one? I used one a couple months back in which we took back Desharnais from mtl. It got shot down as some did not want to take on a contract.

I had one for Hagelin who is struggling in Pitt this year. Mine was shot down just as quick as yours. In a cap world to get something done money usually needs to go both ways.

I would even say Hansen and clb 2nd to Chicago for Kruger and 1st. Chicago could protect Hansen and rumour is Chicago was going to put up Kruger. I don't mind putting Kruger up and if not taken, van gets a late first. He fills a roll until Gaudette or someone is ready.

The what if scenario tear down at TDL. Taking this from JB perspective on what he sees as core going forward. Sedins, LE and Edler are not TDL viable.

High picks are like 1st rounder to second rounder 15 to 60 range. Medium down to 61-120 etc. to low below that. Possible use destinations noted.

Tanev- prospect and high picks ----- everyone
Sbisa- medium pick ----- D insurance or present injury relief for contender
Hansen- high pick and possible prospect ---- everyone
Burrows- medium to high possible pick ----- contender all around utility
Miller- medium to high pick -----just Kings or Ducks
Skille- low pick-------- fourth line injury relief
Megna- possible low pick------- play off bound insurance relief
Chaput- possible low pick. ------ play off bound with injury issues

Would this be enough to change team outlook? Satisfy the mob?

With all due respect, I think you are out to lunch on overvaluing at every single players trade return.

looks like I missed the prolific return of Vantel's BFF and hetero-lifemate Nucker, back to tell us how bad Sbisa is even though he's having a great year, has progressed every year since signing here and looks to be a second pairing defenseman if he continues this trend (which , correct me if I'm wrong, is quite a bargain at 3.6 million).
Can't help but agree that Dorsett is garbage, but so was Vey. JB has had pretty good odds with guys he's spent money and picks on the fact that he has 9 guys playing for the current roster (not including Chapoo and Magma) that are significant pieces going forward he has acquired as free agents, trade or draft tells you he has some ability.
We can debate whether any of these players are good, IMO: Stecher, Tree, EG and Sbisa are guys I would like to see stay in the lineup and have been one of the bright spots. Same with Sven, Granlund and Sutter. Seems to me he has focused on the back-end/defensive play and really turned it around. I'd imagine this draft/offseason he will be thinking scoring/top-6.

You sneak in a shot at Dorsett at every possible opportunity. Why?

That's a funny comment. Where does that differ from the experts? Did you notice the range? For example Tanev isn't worth a 60th overall pick?

Anyway the point of the post was just sheer conjecture. You can have fun with it or attack the poster with the usual mindless crap that the hecklers like. Not putting you there as you like to talk hockey.

Definition of homer trade aspirations, with the exception of Sbisa who I think might actually fetch more than a 3rd given his progression over the past two seasons and age. He's like Micheal Stone(who just went for a 3rd) except trending up instead of down. Not too sure, curious what others think of his value. I'd rather they hung onto him and traded the older players (tanev or Edler)

Don't take it personally everyone gets shot down , that is why very few post trade proposals .

The rule is if you post them you got to own them but you will be shot down

He's just statistically a garbage can for his salary. I realize a lot of people like him because he stands up for his teammates, but you can pay a guy alot less than 2.65 million to be a energy/tough guy IMO. We traded a 3rd for him, which I also think was a ridiculous price.

I have to disagree. This team gets slapped around nightly, hence my point about Stetcher getting pummeled by the goalie the other night as his teammates stand there gawking. There is never any kind of aggression or pushback when a teammate gets run or cheap-shotted. Dorsett was the only Canuck who brought fire most nights. Also, it sounds like he was playing with a significant injury for the last year or so.

Came for some light reading during some downtime, didn't expect 800+ posts. Personally I think it's great! That people still care about the club, what's happened, what's happening and a path forward.

Yes you got it. It sort of throws shade on the idea of a tear down at the TDL.

Anyway, qualified it as a "what if" scenario not a probable or should or can be. It was an exercise in taking all the extremes into account and what the picture would look like. It's meant for fun.

Why does everything have to fit into the usual box lunch of talk?
