They have been.

Larsen experiment is over however...time for bye bye.

Making a trade for the sake of making a trade is a bad idea.

Hutton is young, cheap and likely to improve.

- Whiskey-Tango

with our depth on right D and huttons up side , Tanev is the most logical and beneficial player to move.

if you look 2 years away does Tanev on the Oil sound better then Puulaarvi on the Canucks sound better?

Tanev & Burrows to a contender for something useful, top 6, prospect and a pick...

Guddy will be just fine here as will Eriksson next season. Scuks we have to wait but they will be fine.

Guddy with Edler might work.

- LordHumungous

I see that as possible. Guddy and Edler would be a good PK pair. Not sure 5v5. Like the snarl potential. Depends if Edler is enough of a puck mover to balance Guddy out.

Don't believe how it helps a contender giving up a top 6. Fill a hole create another. They want to add not take away on need at TDL.

You are right about trading him. with Guddy, stetcher and tryamkin on the right we are good, Tryamkin looks better on the right. But I don't think any of them are ready for 1st pairing yet.

Guddy would allow Edler to ignore the physical game, which would make him better IMO.

Megna for.a 7th will be a nice trade. Heck I would even throw in Larsen for free, just so I don't have to see him in Canuck uniform again.
- Reubenkincade

Was watching Vikings Season 4 last night and was shocked to see Larsen moonlighting as an actor. No wonder he's not working out this year, he's gotta commit to one job.

which is why he would be more sought after than I think people realize. I am not advocating for us to trade him by any means, but I don't disagree with Bob Mack when he says that Hutton could draw interest.

To an extent I guess. I still think you are better off getting a rental if you established your protected players. Better bargain for your prospects/picks.
- Codes1087

Ya, who really knows what Gms are thinking, there are only so many UFAs. Maybe Hansen is better then someone a team could protect.

Megna and Chaput have been nice un-heralded signings by Benning

Right on both counts. I have coffee a few/times month with a Jets scout and he says they are always watching Hansen...they like him. However for the Jets to pull the trigger on Hansen they need to solidify a PO spot before TDL...which isn't likely.
- LordHumungous

Jets won't be buyers...I also don't see the Habs wanting Burrows. They may not make the playoffs either.

I thought Edler being physical was a good thing for his game. What LordH's point was taking that to add to Guddy. Allow Guddy to do more hit wise knowing Edler has his back if needed.

If it could work as top pair then Edler would have to carry or move the puck more to make up for what Guddy doesn't do there. I think that's what you are agreeing with would be a good for his game.

Maybe the question is can Edler do both (Physical and Offense) as well with Guddy in a top pairing?

Bob has a great point. The cost of acquiring Hansen is the trade price + whatever asset they can't protect. So most teams will view him as a pure rental. That combined with his NTC makes it very difficult to pull of. Perhaps they should shift focus to trading Granlund.

For all the trade purposal's I've seen on here. I've never seen one where Van takes back a bad contract or someone they would need to protect.

Seen that Arizona and Toronto taking on a bad contract isn't worst thing in the world and gets a trade done.

The complications surrounding this TDL might mean a boring week is ahead.
Offseason prolly where most teams get serious making trades.
