Jennifer B Cutler: Habs host the Jets in Julien's coaching debut
The Montreal Canadiens host the Winnipeg Jets Saturday afternoon in Claude Julien's debut - Jennifer B Cutler
I hate to say I told you so but after most of you neophytes were having a habgasm after 30 games, I told you that the league would catch up to this half-assed team and you would see the real deal when they did. we habs fans have been sold fool's gold year after year after year. bergevin is a weakling. therrien was a bandaid in a bad suit. on and on it goes. Molson, at least this version, is a pathetic lulu lemon leader just like our poofter prime minister justie trudeau. Julien is an upgrade over therrien, there is no doubt about it. but the bergevin/Molson hierarchy is an embarrassment to the storied franchise. get used to it you pathetic habs fans. you will not see a Stanley cup in your lifetime as long as this ownership/management group is in charge. and that includes pacioretty as the weakest captain in franchise history. total disgust. |

If they continue to play like they did yesterday, it wouldn't surprise me in the least. Said it before, but Carey was the only thing keeping that game respectable. |

They've been playing this way for quite some time now, Bergevin will most likely be quiet at the deadline and it's probably the way to go |

Agreed. Unless we can shed dead weight for draft picks/decent prospects, I'd just hold off. We're not going to be ready this year, I think, and that's a shame, because God knows Weber isn't getting any younger. If Sergachev is ready to step up in the next year or two, I'd seriously consider sending Weber to Arizona for Duclair, picks, and prospects. They can handle the salary, and could use the D. I like Weber, don't get me wrong, but unless Bergevin has some crazy ideas up his sleeve to vastly improve the team in the off-season? I don't see the Habs contending any time soon. |

I don't think I'd be down for that trade unless it was Arizona's 1st this year and that ain't happening |

Just hard to make any kind of assessment when it comes to this team, first 30 games and on paper they seem to be a piece or 2 away from being top contenders but the product on the ice for the past 30 games would suggest differently |

I would have preferred Gallant, to be sure, but we gotta give Julien a little more time than 1 practice and 1 game. Especially after they just signed him to a big contract. He won't be going anywhere any time soon. |

Same poop, different coach.
This team needs to change some of its core.
Like most of it. |

I don't disagree there, but when the majority of your core is a festering pile of dog poop, that's all you're going to get back, unfortunately. |
