TJ Oshie if he was 5 million
- GERBE!!!75PTS

My guess is Oshie will be looking for closer to 6. I'd rather pay Kane even if it does cost more. Just the age factor alone is enough for me to say that.

I get the whole moving something of value to get something of value in return thing.

Here is what I will say in the matter:

Should the Sabres not make the playoffs and somehow end up in the position to draft top 2 then by all means you send Kane plus for that top pairing defensemen.

You would have a forward make up of something line this

Nico Eichel Reinhart
Bailey (who looks pretty solid here) O'Reilly Okposo
Foligno Girgensons Carrier
Moulson Larsson Gionta (re-signed)

But that is the only way I am trading Kane at the moment.

That would leave

Risto Player X in Kane trade
Guhle McCabe
Bogo Falk
Fedun

Lehner
Ullmark

Gorges gets moved at the deadline, Ennis goes to Vegas

But until that happens unless a crazy Kane for OEL comes along type deal you don't move Kane.

Would anyone do Aaron ekblad for Sam Reinhart if they called?
- GERBE!!!75PTS

If you asked me this last year, I probably would have said yes. After seeing Ekblad this year, I'm not sure I would do that. He's been kind of a mess.

Why should you care what he does off the ice. You pay to watch him on the ice .

The age is definitely a factor he's a very good player but it seems like players like him hit a wall fast

I wouldn't

Reinhart is turning into a very good forward plus having the option to play him at center as well is something I value pretty high.

Not a knock on Ekblad but he also isn't having a good year and has an injury history with concussions

Both of them seem to miss time every year with injuries too. Though Oshie's concern me more as he's had quite a few pretty serious concussions already.

Kane usually misses time for other reasons, but at least those typically have a fairly set time frame for how long he'd be out.

Thats great, I agree we need blueline help. You said you could easily replace Evander Kane. Im still waiting for who replaces him.
- ImThatGuy

I posted this a few days ago, leading up to this year, over the past 3 seasons
combined, he has less than 100 points. That's replaceable

Are we taking this Kane for the last 2.5 months, over the previous 3 years of Kane?

it's a tough one lol it's definitely either a reward or bust type especially with that contract

I can't remember the burns situation in Minnesota was he just bad that year? And that's why they traded him to the sharks

It seems a lot of people have turned sour on Aaron ekblad I mean I've watched some games and I can't even believe how bad he is but that trade would be interesting

I don't see how you could turn that down. We desperately need a top pairing LHD.

Here is where I think he is finally coming into his own. Even though you know players don't just turn a corner at age 25...

Kane in the past hasn't played like he has been for this extended period of time. I think he has finally realized the type of player he is and is playing that role. You might be able to say Bylsma actually knows what role Kane fits best into and has put him in that position.

That is the question that's hard to answer. I wouldn't just move him for the sake of moving him at this point. But if moving him was going to bring in a top 2 defender, I'd figure out a way to deal with it.

Baptiste or Bailey can fill some of the void he'd leave at the moment. Just not sure if they'd necessarily be able to replace the scoring touch he's had lately. But they're both fast skaters and both can play a physical game as well. There would for sure be a learning curve though.

Some definitely do. It's usually not the ones with 7 years of NHL experience though.

If Kane had played 200 NHL games and was 25, I'd agree.

I just think 50% of this is puck luck. He had 2 shots on goal against Toronto, for one, that's like half of his average shot total, also, both went in.

I don't expect that type of execution to continue.

I think he's playing really well too.

Agreed with your post ..I also wanted him off the team but with him playing so well his value has skyrocketed

I also believe one of those two players will be in a package at the deadline I just have a feeling
