We are looking to replace the minivan (breaks my heart, but it's almost 12 years old, although only about 160,000 km).

We have two kids, so about once a month or so, we require a 3rd row.

So we are looking to buy the vehicle with the smallest third row. The Nissan Rogue currently has a model with what could barely be called a third row - you'd be brutally uncomfortable if you are over 5 feet.

But I'll never ride in the third row, so what the poop do I care? I'll only be transporting neighbours' kids to the pool or to Chuck E. Cheese - hell, I want the freeloading frankers to be uncomfortable.

So I attended a wedding a few years ago in Cape Cod, one of the people in the group called for a cab and a station wagon cab showed up to take us to the venue and he had the reverse bench seats in the back, a disco ball and karaoke machine, we made sure to get his card and called him wherever we were headed all weekend - had a blast in that old wood paneled vehicle with the tunes a blaring.

I grew up in one of those - first time I ever drove by myself was in my dad's Chevy Caprice Estate wagon.

Could seat 9 legally. I think in high school I was drove my entire rugby team to an away game.

That is sweet.

I went to Chicago last year with a bunch of people. We found a party bus (short school bus) that was the same thing. Disco ball, stripper pole, and beers in ice all around the edges. Basically just tried to pound as many beers as you could because it cost about $100 to go 8 blocks. Had to get your moneys worth somehow. Buddy wants to go everywhere in it.

Here's my 2009 Ram St 4x4 reg cab base model 4.7L 310hp...absolutely no options on the windowsticker...it was bought for a municipality as a fleet model and then renegged...I picked it up for 25K....put front tow hooks, trailer hitch receiver, kelly TSR tires, boxliner on it.

The 4.7L can be woken up big time with some High Output overhead cams out of the Jeep... nice and easy cheap mod to do if you're at all mechanical... exhaust and a chip, that thing will feel like a new truck... new wheels and tires... show truck!
