Mike, since a trade for a Dman is most likely to occur in the off-season who does Lou target (per previous blogs, Anaheim, Minnesota, Philly) and what would be a realistic package of player Toronto would offer to land that young top 4 Dman?

I am all for keeping him and in discussing it am probably adding fuel to the fire.

Some of you are way too hard on Gardiner. I say it every day, he's been decent this year and if we make changes to the d, I really hope it's not him, Rielly or Zaitsev.

in all seriousness, for the same production, considering the age difference and the fact that jvr's next contract will be > than nylander's next contract, it's a absolute no-brainer to keep nylander.

This season...all they need to do is improve the 5-6 spot...it can be done for relatively cheap.
Off season...get a 3-4 man
