Hey, guess we finally got ourselves a hockey game this evening. Any thoughts? Predictions? Calgary has been struggling lately. |

Ha! Cannot believe the Bruins fired Julian! He is a terrific coach. I think it's a huge mistake. Big. Mistake. |

No way lol That was Sweeney's fault. Dude put together a garbage roster from day one. Julien was trying to turn poop into gold. |

Trading Dougie Hamilton for poop, trading Reilly Smith for Jimmy Hayes, giving all of Hamiltons money to bottom pairing defensemen McQuaid and Miller, Beleskey a 5 year deal, David Backes a 5 year deal, Khudobin to a smaller degree was a waste of money, traded away Martin Jones, losing Eriksson for nothing... seriously.. what the hell was Julien supposed to do? hahahaah |

Saving grace seems to be they've actually done a fairly good job drafting. Only reason they've remained competitive while making strange moves. |

Wasn't Sweeney's drafting lol I don't think there's a single player drafted by Sweeney on the roster, that was all Chiarelli's drafting. I might be wrong tho.
EDIT: nevermind, Brandon Carlo was Sweeney's draft pick. |

Is the plan to give Murray so many games that Fleury gets upset and waves his limited nmc at the expansion draft? Or just giving more games to the future? I'd be playing Fleury more so he can play well and show potential trade partners what they are trading for. |

The plan is to give the Penguins the best chance to win, and the best chance is having Murray in net. |

I am pretty sure everyone knows what MAF can do, no need to showcase him. MM gives the Pens the best chance to win, in the eyes of the coach. Thats all that really matters at this point. MM isn't the future, he is the present. |

I just dont see too many teams ( that are likely not on his list of teams he can refuse a trade to) that would love trading for a cold goalie. Especially this late in the season. But thats just me. |

Pens winning games in a tight metro division is more important than showcasing a goalie having a below average season to try and trade him. |

I don't think so. I would think the idea is that Murray won the early season battle and earned the right to be the #1 coupled with the fact that they want to see what Murray looks like when handling the full workload before making any radical moves.
As a side note, Murray's sv% since taking over the #1 role is .914 down from the .925 he carried when it was more of a split. 8 games is way to small of a sample size to really take seriously but being that the mindset by many fans was that Murray needed to be the #1 so that he could get into a rhythm which would elevate his play, the fact that his numbers have dropped considerably since taking over that role and getting the extra time should be at least a little concerning. The next 10-12 games for Murray are going to be very telling, if his numbers don't rebound or continue to drop there may or should be some concerns.

I don't see your numbers, but if its based on 8 games its definitely too small. Especially since your picking 8 games which coincidentally starts with the capitals 8-7 game. I don't feel like running the numbers...but if you just look at his last 7 games I'm pretty sure his save percentage is inline with prior performance. |

Last 7 games since the Washington game his save % is .934, so yeah, he has rebounded nicely from that game and that 1 game drastically sways an 8 game sample size. |
