If the Leafs perform like we hope and expect they will over the next couple of years, they will be nowhere near getting a Provorov-level dman in the draft, unless they get very lucky.

Wow, really? I haven't been paying attention. I think he is exactly what would fit on the Leafs. Nylander is not a player they should trade lightly.

Only trade him if you can get a good young toppairing d-man, so Leafs are stronger as a team.

But people only focus on the part of trading away Nylander, not the potential return.
