Toronto ranked #6 in penalty kill

and everyone wants to put the player with the highest average amount of ice time on the PK in the press box....

- jribout

What could possibly go wrong with Rielly, Gardiner and Carrick killing penalties?

FFS you guys.

A few games ago:

90% of posters on here:
"Marincin is actually playing quite well, looking good after his return from injury - great to have a good 4/5 d-man in him - let's expose Carrick instead of him during expansion draft".

After last 3 games:

90% of posters on here:
"Marincin is the worst d-man ever, should never be in NHL, disgrace for the beautiful game of hockey".

I don't mind people being very outspoken about a specific opinion they have - even if it's completely different than mine.
What I do find sad is people changing their opinions every 4 days.

(above goes as well for some of you re the complete Leafs team: from "yes!! playoffs!!' to ''here we go again... trailer from cliff team - typical leafy" ....)

- MaximusAurelius

Name these people... So we can take them out back and shoot them....

Along with the idiots that think we should trade Nylander!

Rielly does fine when he isn't injured. Personally, don't think he should be playing based on how he was labouring in the past game.

I don't think anyone is in a hurry to trade Nylander or JvR... but if the right deal is there... you have to consider it don't you?

Leafs have following depth on D:

#1: --
#2: Rielly
#3: Zaitsev
#4: Gardiner (fringe 4/5 D-man)
#5: --
#6: Polak, Hunwick, Marincin
#7: Carrick
+ then a few younger guys that project to be NHL players in 1-2 years from now (Nielsen, Dermott).
haven't seen enough Detroit games last couple of years to have a decent opinion on Marchenko.

When Dermott is ready to go full-time on NHL, it's the end of Gardiner's days at the Leafs - it's as simply as that.
He's projected to be as valuable on offense and PP, but with better defensive skills.

Leafs need d-men that can play d.

I feel like if you were GM I would be begging for the Leafs to re-hire Dave nonis

Babs, its time.........to end this Marincin nonsense.

I never want to see him on the ice in the leaf jersey again.
Absolute garbage.

Carrick would actually be a decent 5th dman. Marincin should be playing in the KHL.
Same with Hunwick.
Marchenko has to be better than Hunnie and Marincin....ya cant be worse than Marincin.
Im not sure Dermott coming into the line means Gardiner is done though....nothing to suggest that yet.

Is he not top 4 in rookie scoring?
I agree, as with any player, you always have to listen to offers...but lets keep Nylander around for another year or two....or more.
Other pieces can be moved for D or we can overpay for D via UFA.

In 2 years, if we still haven’t found a that dman we’re looking for, then explore trading nylander to balance out the team.

Kind of a last resort option.

He's only on John Tavares rookie scoring pace, nowhere near Patrick Kane rookie scoring pace.

too far ahead to know, but it would have to be a similar age established dman.

i'm hoping through either FA or an forced expansion draft trade we don't have to resort to that.

Although if the leafs haven't fixed the D issue in the next two years....management should be fired.

Yeah rookies that could break 50 points have no upside, It'll be all down hill in the following years.
