Let's hope our franchise can follow the blackcocks motto

toews-matty
kane-marner
hossa-willie(without the defense hossa gives)

keith-Reilly

crawford-anderson

with mix matching inbetween players. Core though. lets hope they can pull this off in a couple years and keep developing!!

Marner is like Kane with excellent defense -- so perhaps he cancels out the Willie/Hossa comparison.

I actually like the Marner/Datsyuk comparison someone mentioned further back in this thread. Especially if Marner, at some point, makes the switch to C.

I'd have Willie as Sharp. Meaning we need a Seabrook and Hossa and the rest will hopefully fall in to place
- walshyleafsfan

good call!

Sharp def is a better comparison.

Lot's of prospects to fill out the rest of that core in a couple years. 20 draftees in the past two drafts if i'm correct?

Grundstrom could bring lots of ladd intangibles.

Neilsen could maybe one day be a left handed seabrook.

nevermind the past two hunter drafts we still have quite a few guys to look at, joshua, vesey etc

i agree marner's D is far better then what we all expected...but datsyuk is datsyuk. maybe one day he can be but datsyuk will probably go down as one of the best defensive all star centres

I'd settle for a kidney stone at this point.

Having Marincin is like having a kidney stone... you never know when it is going to cause you pain...you just know that it will.
