Bills QB Tyrod Taylor said Friday on ESPN Radio he feels the Buffalo media is a "very negative group" and was "attacking the wrong things at the wrong time. It wasn't fair to me at the time, but this game isn't fair. I could have carried it a different way, looking back on it, but I think that also sparked some things as far as my teammates. To see me react the way I did, I think that made them look at me a different way. ... I wasn't going to continue to keep standing right there and keep taking the things [the media] was saying."

Grow thicker skin or learn how to play QB, i'm sure the thicker skin will happen faster.

This is becoming a common theme. A lot of players and coaches express this view, and i think its mostly because some of the stuff Bucky and Sully write borders on personal. There's reasonable criticism, and then there's taking pot shots and crossing the line. I think the BN sports department has an adversarial relationship with the Pegulas because the BN has taken the position that no matter how much they slam the Pegulas, they should be granted more interviews and insight. Then when they don't get that, they get even more personal.

If you ever read the winnipeg media coverage of the Jets, they are overly supportive of that team. I think the BN has gone so far the other way that this problem won't be resolved until there are new writers

Yea, Buffalo media is a cake walk compared to other cities. If the Bills players are concerned with The Buffalo media, they need to find something else to do

Being good, helps shut them up.

Not that I agree with Sully, ever, but best way to shut him up is to produce. He hated McCoy, now can't really write anything negative about him.....because he's good.

Maybe, but like i said, i think the criticism gets more personal here. Plus, Taylor gets the added baggage of the QB drought and playoff drought. I mean, let's be honest, Taylor is probably the best QB we've had since Bledsoe (not saying much), but he's still getting attacked left and right.

I tend to agree with Taylor actually. He's a decent QB but he gets demolished in the press. Roman/Lynn/Ryans all decided that we would run the ball. If he gets another shot here, and he's actually allowed to throw the ball lets see what happens

interesting part of falk extension

Falk is 5 gms shy of the 40/70 req. Coupled with his Ext, it would give BUF 5 D who meet exposure req, & some flexibility to possibly go 8/1

If we played McCabe at forward for one game, could we call him a Byfuglien/Burns hybrid dman/forward and protect him as a forward? Then we could go 8-1 for the draft and not lose anything of value on the backend.

I imagine the league would call shenanigans on that, but hey, why not

I don't understand this part.

Isn't pretty basic, either 6-4-1 or 7-3-1 ?

its 8 skaters 1 goalie or you can do 7 forwards 3 d-men and one goalie

capfriendly suggesting that could play to our advantage as we only have 2 dmen worth protecting. (at least thats what i took from it)

is that not where the extension helps though? if you traded bogo/gorges without the extension you don't meet minimum exposure requirements?

They can go 7-3-1
8-1 means any eight skaters and a goalie

So they could go
Ristolainen
McCabe
ROR
Kane
Foligno
Larsson
Girgensons
Ennis
Lehner

If the Sabres wanted they could protect Carrier over Ennis, thus forcing Vegas to either take a bad contract, or Ullmark/ Deslauriers/ Falk

Three pucks or I walk...

Seriously tho...I don't get the rampant hate for those two...

Are they elite? No
Are they serviceable? Yes

serviceable was bogo's hot streak. That's it. Every player thats replaced gorges in the lineup has been a major improvement in virtually every area of the ice.

And serviceable is what you want from your ahl callups, not the guy making 5 mil.

Still don't get this. 8-1 means you are only protecting 9 total, correct?

I believe we have to protect Okposo (I would anyway, even if we didn't have to)

Trade larsson at the deadline to a team that's out of it.

They would have to choose from 26, 4 or 47

yes. The drawback is you're protecting less but the idea is you can finesse the list in such a way that vegas is forced to take something you don't necessarily want.

Nobody will trade for an injured larsson so that might be tricky. And I would think based on what we've seen that if it comes down to it they'll protect carrier over ennis.
