Nylander's not going anywhere anytime soon, and JvR wont be either, until next year's trade deadline, if at all.

For either of those 2 players to be moved, Leafs would need to get back a #1 Dman, at the NHL level, and there's zero teams that would wanna trade someone like that.

What you may see is JvR for a package, including a good AHL defenceman, ready to jump to NHL levels.

Kapanen and Leipsic arent at the same level just yet, and both are injured.

Actually the Marlies suck hard this year and need an injection of new draft players.

I also think there may be some opportunities this year because of expansion and the protection limits to pick up a d-man or two. Hopefully Marancin is not part of the plan - he is brutal. I don't expect a top pairing guy - maybe a 3-4 guy. If they could re-sign JVR to a contract for a few years, it would be ok. He is amongst the most productive left wingers in hockey and hard to replace.

On a different topic, can anyone explain why the (frank) Leaf games are covered, commentated on by those who hate the Leafs.

1) Jim Hughson a Canuck fan and Leaf Hater - why not Bob Cole who loves the Leafs?
2) Craig Simpson - when Leafs drafted Wendel Clark, Simpson supposidly told the Leafs not to draft him because he would not play for them. Why the (frank) is he on Leaf games?

When Sportnet - owned by Rogers - also own the Leafs, why can't we have commentators that aren't rooting for the (frank)en opposition?

Gather round children and let me tell you of the promised land.

The base is big Mac sauce instead of tomato. Mozzarella cheese, ground beef before going in the oven with some sesame seeds in the crust. Cook crust to your liking as with any pizza. The play by play for TSN is the only good announcer. Ferraro is okay.

Everyone else sucks so bad. Simpson won't say one good thing about the Leafs.

I think some in the Toronto media get labeled as haters when all they are is honest... Ferraro calls it the way he sees it... doesn't mince words... he was pretty harsh on the Leafs a couple of years ago... but so was everyone else.
