We're not as bad as Habs fans/media..... lose 2 in a row in MTL and all players hide. Trade him, Fire him.
But anyways..... big game tomorrow, please let us win in OT? - nanook82

I agree, we will take Mcdavid and a 1st at the deadline for Wideman - jessehub
I am sorry, I couldn't agree to such a lopsided arrangement in the Oilers favor. I am a fan but I am fair.

If the Lames goaltending had been even average against us they would have taken a few points in the series and could be even with the oil.
Todd said this 4 game stretch would tell them where the team is. I think it's telling them there is lots of room for improvement. - Iggysbff
And if them team showed up in the Buffalo game and at least one of those game since the AS break and the flames are still behind. That hindsight stuff goes a million different ways. |

You, ad nauseam. I was referring to the game last night, and to a lesser extent the two games prior to that.
I can't quite wrap my head around the 2nd lines struggles. Nuge and Eberle have both excelled away from McDavid (and Hall) before, and to have them both go so cold at the same time is either horrible luck or caused by some factor that is beyond me to comprehend. - Wildschwein
It's entirely possible that they're still too wrapped up in our previous losing culture, and try as they might psychologically they're always waiting for the other shoe to drop. You can just see the difference in a game like last nights, where Mcdavid went nuts in the 2nd and his whole line was balls out dominant, and even other players like Kass, Testes, Klef, Lars etc. were all pushing...whereas you get to the NugeEb line and it was like "Oh well ho hum another losing streak guess it's time to start booking tee times."
Just a thought though. I'm sure they don't want to lose but something is wrong for them this year. |

Settle
The (frank)
down.
My point is that 4 points can turn into 8 points pretty fast if this skid continues.
Like I said, the sky isn't falling, but a 3 game skid is significant. It's not ridiculous to suggest that addressing the lack of scoring aside from the McDavid line should be addressed, whether that means adding a winger to split Draisaitl and McD, adding a puck moving D to increase scoring from the ass end.
As for trading everyone? I sure as poop didn't say that. - Larsson_fan
I never said you when I was talking about people and the sky falling. So take it down a notch there champ.
My point is as similar as those that see that overcoming an 11 point gap as not as simple as "just win 4 games". It is a pretty good hurdle to overcome. The oil just need to stop the skid. They have been there and done that already a few time this season. No reason to think they won't again. |

The only part of that equation that's even relevant is Benning. Oesterle has shown pretty good in previous call ups and apparently Reinhart has been solid af this year, but he will be a 7th D type call up. |

I wish we had more depth, but that useless tit on waivers |

Another fun fact: only 3 players have a positive giveaway/takeaway ratio. Drycyle (just barely), Jesus (of course, is there anything he isn't good at?), and Nuge (the best on the team.)

Also 3rd on team in blocked shots and 2nd in PK time.
You can make a case for Ebs but Nuges all around game, despite his underwhelming offensive totals, is really becoming something. |

30th in face-offs in the league. So chasing the puck the entire game should hopefully result in more takeaways than giveaways. |

He's nowhere near an anchor..... way too lite. He's more of a pillow.
And when he's not scoring; he brings nothing else to the table. Sure he kills penalties... but he can't win draws. $6 mil is an expensive penalty killer.
If this kid is still on this club next season, Chia better surround him with better skill/grit wingers. |

Connor - T2
