I think everyone is being patient. I just find it rediculius to put a 2 C ceiling on a 21 year old who is leading our team in scoring - CanuckDon
A pretty good Centre produced 15 g, 34 a, 49 pts, 82 games in age 21 season. Currently sits 5th in points this season. Mark Scheiffle.
Bo Horvat in age 21 season so far: 14g 18a 32 pts in 50 games, almost exactly the same pace as Scheiffle in age 21 season.
Way too early to tell Bo's ceiling.
Another good Centre in the mix is sorely needed but again so are wingers defense and another goalie.

After watching the Prospects game on the weekend, did anyone feel like stock rose on certain players and fell on others?
I thought Rasmussen had some pretty good jump and maybe helped his ranking a little more. His speed is debated at times but some scouts even say it's decent for his size. It looked fine in the game. I have no doubt that he is a top 10 in this draft.
Ratcliffe made himself noticeable. Big and physical and strong with the puck. Opened the scoring on the PP. I thought he may have helped himself in the game. I think someone gets themselves a pretty good power forward taking him mid to late round.
I expected more from Tippet. He was pretty invisible 5 on 5. Got a late PP goal but I barely heard his name the first two periods.
The don't think the scouts were too excited about the goal tending. - boonerbuck
I watched Rasmussen play a couple games back in October and thought he looked fantastic - top 10, everyone told me I was outta my f&*king mind and he would go in the mid 20's...
I hate seeing the team lose but I think its just the way things are right now so if we do draft top 10, he's a beauty, Pettersson would be a nice consolation prize tho |

Goaltending is never good in junior, it's rare to get good goaltending unless you have a Roy or Marc Andre-Fleury type prospect. Goaltenders take the longest to develop, like defensemen do, simply because that's the hardest position to play. - DariusKnight
Flames know that all too well |

schiefele is an interesting case.
I'm not sold on him. he took his time getting where he is. and winnipeg has been stacking up their top line and plaging run and gun. it's kind of like last year's Ottawa. Ottawa had some pretty average players putting up big points. among the top scoring teams in the league. but they paid no attention to defense. a coach comes in that actually has them playing responsible hockey and theirs production drops.
I'd bet the same would happen to winnipeg if they actually played defense. |

semantics. is your number 1 centre simple the guy who plays on the first ES line? the guy who gets the most ice overall? your best centre (who typically gets the most ice anyway)?
either way, Toews is better than Horvat. toews at his best is likely far, far better than Horvat ever will be. and the Hawks with toews at his current level aren't even winning a cup anyway. - prock

I actually sort of am. I think they're one of the best run teams in the league. they find talent very well and fare pretty decently for a budget team. - prock
Hey you can't deny good management. That Flyer offer sheet really screwed them. |

How is he an interesting case?
He has improved his point total fairly significant every year he has been in the league, which is a usual progression for.players.
I guess you could call it interesting because he he following a progression path or that maybe, just maybe Bo is also following in a high level progression path. |

jets fans have developed into the homerest of homely world champion homes out there.
according the them Laine is generational. trouba is a good number one day. schiefele is an elite centre. buff is a great number one d. helleybuck is a veZina winner in the works. Wheeler one of the best wingers in the game.
I actually saw one of them say Laine has "a generational shot". wtf is that?
.all these elite players but their team is horse crap. what gives? |

Rasmussen Ratcliffe Rasanen Hirschier Foote Hague Yamamoto - VANTEL
Yamamoto was a guy who I thought bumped his rank a bit maybe also. He was pretty active.
I didn't mention Hirschier because he was and still is considered top 2. No surprises in that game.
Foot and Hague we ok. Didn't push the envelope though that's for sure. |

No im beating Donna pretty badly.
I traded Marchand to lefty for McDavid at the start of the year. Couldn't stand having that rat on my team. |

I think they're a good comparison but I see nothing that indicates Horvat will be better than Kesler? Despite Kesler's douchieness he's still one helluva a player, even to this day, he's having a great season.
On the #1 comment, you need a guy who's way more skilled than Horvat if you truly wannna win a Cup. The kids awesome and he's just a great person, but he'll always be a number two on a good team. - LeftCoaster
I think the way the NHL is trending you need to have 3 legit centers. With fighting all but gone the 4th line needs to be that energy checking line and your top 3 lines all need to be able score more so now than ever before. With that being said if we can pull another Bo in this years draft and Guadette looking really good we might be closer than we think. |

must be the key to the leafs holding down a playoff spot. hopefully he doesn't get injured in team canada selection camp. maybe it's best the nhl doesn't play in the Olympics. |
