Great breakdown and reasoning. Did you hear about BB being tried out at center? Remember when Linden came in as RW into the League and was converted to be a center later. Took team to SCF playing there. Well perhaps BB could develop that way in a center role with a better shot and release? He's got the hockey IQ it seems to play center in an effective way. Could give Nucks options.

Anyway, still believe the team is getting younger and upgrading. Another high end center could be found next couple drafts. JB's going to concentrate on the draft to work on more improvements. May stock up with a few trades here and there too. Or acquire a prospect needing a break. Plus a few surprises with young free agents who can get a shot at filling a role.

uhh, well, for starters, despite the fact that the majority of the Leafs core is under the age of 23, they have more points in less games. Their pts% puts them just outside the top 10 in the league, and the Canucks are bottom 10.

besides the fact that "ahead" does not require something to be finished, even beyond this year's standings, you're out to lunch if you think the Canucks have much, if anything really, on the Leafs at this point.

Kadri was taken in 2009, Rielly & Brown in 2012, Nylander in 2014, Marner in 2015 and of course Matthews in 2016. Only Matthews was a first overall pick, which was luck.

That 6 players just from drafting. I hate when people call it the Leafs model, like they're the first ones in NHL history to use the draft to get better....like WTF??? Teams have used the draft since its inception to win Championships.
