IMO the size is the only reason he isn't top-5. More and more we are seeing small skill guys make the league now that so much of the player's safety and the end of the clutch and grab has been around for a while.

With his insane numbers, absolutely.
57 points in his first junior season is unreal.

Have you looked at any draft previews? I haven't seen Yamammoto below 15 on any draft board and I've looked at a lot.
- neem55

I actually don't care if Yamamoto is a wizard on skates. Say no to 5'8 hockey players

Agree that by his physical stats, he seems like non-first round player. Ennis is the highest drafted small guy I can think of recently and he was 26th OA. Gaudreau and Gerbe were later rounds

Keller went 7 last year, Fiala at 11, Fabbro at 21.

I won't complain about Benning today, i'm just happy the power came back on.

Jesus, where abouts do you live?
I went through the same storm and it was relatively harmless by Q.C standards.

Hawks fans be talking about how Forsling would be the center piece in a Duchene trade.

- Whiskey-Tango

I am sure Hutton has 3 times more value than Forsling

Tippet is an interesting guy because of that shot but he has a lot of holes in his game. I wouldn't want him in the top 10 personally.

I would hope so!
Unlike Hutton, who's been thrown to the wolves, Forsling has been heavily sheltered like a little female dog.

What do you think his holes are? a big quick skater with an excellent shot. Also apparently a good playmaker. I have only seen highlights and read reports so I don't know him well.

I am higher on Tryamkin than most I think. I think for his size/speed/physicality, he is an absolute GEM of a pick. JB does not get the credit he deserves over picking him in the 3rd round.

So are you going with better or worse than Pronger?

I hear you, this is a pretty common opinion. I think Calgary fans will say: good luck with that!

I do agree it's a huge boom/bust, many will avoid it for this reason. I'm a bit of a gambler and would like to see it.

I don't do projections. In fact I tend to be harsh to people who do comparisons or projections. Tryamkin is Tryamkin and I am just happy to watch him play and smash people!

100%. Forsling is in the AHL at the moment. I actually think that Hutton could interest Colorado in a Duchene trade. Hutton plus Brisbois and Columbus 2nd ( )

more to it than just a sick dog. It's his sons dog of over 10 years and his son is deployed. All star games/competitions are a joke anyway, I have no problem with him leaving a league cash grab event for something more important

Sure, with a 2nd round pick but certainly not our lottery pick.

I'm only going off what I read as well but I thought most scouts were saying great shot, fast but not able to do much else.

Sounds a bit like Jake to me

Forsling playing 32 games as a 20 year old rookie on a decent hawks D team is a tremendous accomplishment.
Forsling also putting up 4 points in the AHL in 9 games is not a bad start either. I am not going to project him to be anything, but what he has done so far at 20 is nothing to cry over. Still wish we had him!

I'm not saying lottery pick, I don't think we end up top-5 that's why I started talking about some of the lower guys in the first place. This is all assuming we pick in the 5-15 range.

We are officially a bubble team

Torts does a ton of stuff for charity. He has his own charity with his wife for animals. I don't blame him one bit. F*CK the all star festivities anyway.
