Well, at least we had two Canucks draft picks in there, Bure and Neely, and before Beattle points this out, I'll just get it out there.....not one Maple Leaf draft pick

...and another mock draft. They have us at 15.

Well our fanbase is more educated than yours. We don't need managment to tell us what to expect
- CanuckDon

Nothing in my post referenced looking to management for expectations, and in fact explicitly asked what Canucks fans were expecting independent of what Benning might do. Tossing insults around reflects poorly on you.

Larsson was trash (Biega is a much better option....That's how bad Larsson is) Forwards not named Horvat/Baertschi/Skille were terrible, Miller was great again.

Larsson better be on his way to Utica (I doubt he will). Not saying the loss was his fault but our defense was noticeably soft against the Coyotes..... I'd rather a 30 year old AHLer than this dumpster fire of a defenseman (think they would have learned from Bart)

At this point, Benning has taken far more heat for his high draft picks, Virtanen and Juolevi, than he has for his lower-ranked choices. There's probably less pressure on him if he picks outside the top 10 this year—his best skill might be finding diamonds in the rough.

I don't think Canucks fans had high expectations coming into this season, but they were pretty indignant about the projections of last place overall and 65 total points.

- Carol Schram

Only 3 years of draft picks but I haven't seen any "diamonds" yet. Some decent NHL players but certainly no Jamie Benn, Ondrej Palat, or Jake Muzzin.

Chaput, Magma and Larsen. That is all
- CanuckDon

Isn't Hansen our only forward out? Why are these scrubs still on the team? I'd rather watch Virtanen/Bouchard poop in the bathwater and develop in the NHL than watch these guys anymore

The remaining schedule will destroy this team.
- A_SteamingLombardi

Pretty much. 85 pts or so is where this team will be whether we like it or not. Every chance they have to jump ahead of the WC spot has been complete failure...but that's ok considering the bottom 6 we have now which primarily (half) belong in the AHL.

And with a way tougher schedule ahead we have to welcome back all the injured players and it will be WEEKS before they are in game shape...they will most likely just be hurt again.

Picking top 5 is where we need to be. Picking top 10 is likely if we finish 20-21. Picking 15th will suck unless it's Cal Foote.

That list has a few questionable names on it, the one that stands out the most for me (and its weird to say) is Toews. He is a great player in this generation, but really one of the 67 best of the past 50 years?

It because they don't make mistakes. Screw the fans. Apparently we don't deserve excitement

I'm hoping Virtanen is developing in the AHL.

I wouldnt say "much" better. Both have different skillsets, but both are pretty bad. I do think though that Tryamkin looks better/more comfortable with Larsen than Biega

so the 47% of fans with 3 teeth and no modern world job skills are ecstatic and hopeful that Momesso, Bure and Linden will be suiting up again, while the rest are looking 4 years out? got it.

so with Canada already having universal medical, many employers actually offer a dental plan...

I'm in no rush to see him back with the big club. want to see him get lots of minutes and opportunity to work on his development in Utica.

Can't see him being a difference maker in Vancouver right now so let him play in Utica and maybe he will get it going and get some confidence for when he is ready to play here.

I can't answer for all Canuck fans but I'm expecting this team to fall out of the playoffs, and collecting draft picks is this fans preference.

I had hope after the Colorado win, that this team would flatten ARI....but ya.... with calgary winning last night, LA is behind us (which always worries me after christmas), this team isnt getting into one of those WC spots.

This team proved the offense isn't reslient whatsoever (the game was very winnable), Willie will continue to not make changes to the lines or powerplay (the fact that Hansen still isn't on any unit is criminal in my mind, regardless of injuries) and will continue to worship terrible players like Chaput/Megna/Larsson. It;s a shame, the canucks probably could still be in a spot today if Willie wasn't backwards.

Just fyi your posts lose credibility when you consistently misspell the players names. Larsen and Boucher.

incase anyone's curious saw this on my score app this morning.

Bo Horvat will be a passer (with mackinnon) on the One timers skills relay, One of the shooters for the 4 line challenge, and Fastest Skater Challenge (vs Tarasenko).....

I'm rarely interested in the ASG/skills competition, but it will be nice to see just how fast Horvat is and to not have to watch another season with a Sedin/Vrbata
