What playoff bar is doable for the Bubble teams.

Canucks in for reality test or rise above and dispel the challenges to their worth?

90-94 pts my guess & go min 6 games or win in 6 or 7.

Nothing to do with a reality test.
I maintain it comes down to inter division & conference games.
Do they have the character & will to win those & get in the PO's?
Comes down to a total team effort due to our limited ability to score.
JB will see further how his team is doing & make moves to change it as needed maybe by the TDL or prolly bigger moves in the offseason.

I don't think there is a big difference from the 8 to 18 th draft pick . Cheer for your team to win.

You want real change and top three draft picks then get the twins to waive NMC

The difference is who JB sees as a need or asset.
Agree not much separates 8-18th

Heard teams are much more willing to give up first round picks this year because they view it as a weaker draft. Might be not a bad idea to sell a few players like Hansen or Granlund at the draft to see how high of a draft pick they could get Van.

Create a Columbus type team that doesn't have a legit first line but solid 4 lines. Of course Van would suck in 17-18 but then get a real high draft pick in what looks to be a deeper draft. There are 2 very good Off. Dmen in 18 draft. Ryan Merkley and Rasmus Dahlin

I actually think Granlund is a better fit than Sven seeing he plays center but they are both very close in ratings. I hope both are stop gaps though.

Columbus is a whole different team than Van . THeir old guys like Hartnell Dubinskiy and Foligno are miles ahead of Sedin Sedin Burrows Eriksson .

We are just a very easy team to play against.

I don't know man, after the first day it wasn't so bad because the ice cleared up. It sucked not having power or running water for nearly 3 days, but I never felt like I was in danger.

The biggest headache is that my wife turns into another child in times of crisis. You'd think some basic survivor skills would sink in but she literally could not take a poop without help.

Well I was saying we should become like Columbus, probably wouldn't be using the Sedin's and burrows since they will be gone at the end of this year and next.

That's why I think granlund would get a great return this year at the deadline or draft because he can play both C and W, signed for another year at super cheap.

Dubinsky and Foligno are only 30 and 29.
Sedins at that time were putting up ppg seasons.

That was basically the point. Hartnell makes 4.75 mil per year and is putting up better numbers . He is the only player on the team older than 30

Our team is old and plays a soft game . That is the biggest reason we are no where near the likes of Columbus.

Torts came in here and tried that style and got ran out of town when in fact we should have been changing the country club members.

We are pretty much at a point now where we have two lines almost producing as much as the Sedins…once we can fill in the bottom 6 with some stable scoring and maybe another two good draft choices we'll be on our way. Also it doesn't matter if the Sedins are on PP1 anymore.

But it sucks to be picking 15th if that's the case.

I literally used the word "create" in the first post. Then I used the word "become" in the second post. At no time did I say that we WERE like Columbus.

Country club members is a term for players under achieving and not making an effort. No one on the Canucks plays like that. I am kind of bewildered why it's even being used as a label. The players are not soft they play hard. But they are not a big thumping team at forward. They play gritty and aggressive and stand up to checks. Go to the hard areas but they lack finish. They are capable but they aren't deadly snipers that only need one chance. Why playing a tight conservative style may keep you in games but also not a formula for creating offense. The PP which is supposed to be a difference maker isn't deadly either. It needs more then a couple opportunities. Problem is if you are not pushing the offense your team doesn't get many calls.
