I really like how Mitch Marner skates from a technical standpoint. Ignoring the other stuff, that's such a difference watching him and someone like Giroux, even prime version, since they often got compared. His stride is so long and powerful, deep knee bend, just generates a ton of drive, even with the puck. - Mononoke
He's mine, back off. |

It's how I skate too. Watch the best skaters in the NHL today -- a guy like MacKinnon or Crosby for example -- and they skate like that. Long stride, feet stay wide and don't come back in like traditional method, low compact bend, arms side to side. You feel so powerful and sturdy skating like that. |

For a smaller guy like Mitch it's especially critical for him to keep his head up too. Which is pretty much necessary to skate like you stated. |

What is he like embiid now..? Mason has been playing back to backs all year. Not mad just seems strange. |

Because playing the same goalie in a back to back is always stupid, barring certain circumstances. If you have 2 healthy goalies, play both. There's simply way too much evidence out there for how bad a goalie is in the 2nd game of a back to back. Hakstol loves doing it though. |

I wish I could hear AMac's internal monologue when he's on the ice. I imagine it's something like:
"whoaaaaa.....uh oh......ahhh....uhhh....jesus.....whaahsahfnia0w4j....god that's a great play by me" - Mononoke
If you ever have met him in real life, hes actually very nice. I just don't get why the team uses him the way they do and that contract. Like is he a wizard in practices? |

Pause the game on that last Ghost turnover with like 30 seconds left. Can anyone get the (frank) open on that 4th line? 2/3 of them aren't in the zone despite no reason to not be, and then VandeVelde is just meandering next to a Leaf not skating. Perfect example of zero teammate support in helping the d exit the zone, even though he probably should have realized the dumb asses weren't going to help and lobbed it out. |
