Let's dig a bit deeper.
I'm sure having 40 shots blocked or missing net is not a problem at all.
Hmmmm another ex Flyer haunt...UGH thats 4-1 this season.

Enjoy your haterade. You sound like someone who hasn't paid attention for the last 3 years of Flyers hockey.
Believe me I've called out people for the poop show we've seen.
I'm just not willing to give up one of Sanheim, Morin, Hagg, Myers, Wilcox or Friedman (listed in no order) until I know we've got 6 D men out of those who can handle being the 6 full time defensemen every night on the NHL roster without a poop show in front of them. |

Washington is a quality PK team so this may be an over reaction but does anyone think it may be time to balance the power play units.
Teams are starting to take away the lanes between Jake and Giroux as well as many other go to plays. All they were giving them yesterday was the left side perimeter and the occasional Jake shot pass from a distance.
Couturier-Giroux-Simmonds
Ghost-Streit
Konecny-Schenn-Wesie
Provorov-Jake - Baxter27
The PP is the least of the problems to me..
Effort, pride, team defense all need to be addressed before i worry about the powerplay. |

I'm cool with Hexy's plan. Forwards traditionally develop faster than Dmen and goalies. So, by 2020 when the young Dmen are hitting their primes, I'm confident that one of there top goalie prospects will be ready to be that #1 guy and forwards like Konecny, Lindblom, Rubtsov, Vorobyov, Laberge, Allison and hopefully some high picks from 2017 and 2018 are ready for prime time as well. Since guys like G, Jake, Simmonds, Coots and Schenn will all be between 27-32, they should also still be able to contribute in a top 9 role. Now 1 or 2 of those core guys may not be here by then and not every prospect will pan out, but either way, Hexy's plan is a sound philosophy in a capped league. - BiggE

Our teams are basically on the same plan, we just had a head start with the defense and a lot fewer contracts tying us down up front.
It's neat to see two teams on similar paths develop. |

I'd double shift G and Schenn and just go with:
1st unit: same
2nd unit: G, Schenn, Coots, Provorov and Streit
Right now, TK seems more effective at ES than he does on the pp. in fact, with his quickness and puck hounding skills, I might start spotting him a bit of PK time. G and Schenn are 2 of the best pp guys in the league. Since one doesn't kill penalties at all and the other only gets spotted on the PK, why not let them do what they do best as much as possible? |

Actually I don't. I have turned off two of the last three games. I hate losing.
I also hate having to wait for them to get good. Not much I can do about that though.
Just because I am not outwardly miserable like you does not mean I enjoy when they suck.
You seem to not be able to find anything positive about the team. Hence my question. Why do you still watch the team? |

Go listen to Hextall as I keep telling you. He's listening to offers to help this team now.
I didn't list Gostisbehere or Provorov. They need 4 defensemen out of those 6 I named. Morin and Sanheim look to be 2 of the 4 they need by reports from LHV. Both could be here next season. So now it's down to getting 2 from 4 I'll take those odds being that one of the other 4 was being drooled over by the Canadian press during the WJC at Christmas time.
Lindbolm is killing it as an 18 year old against the men in the SHL. Voroboyov killed it at the WJC for Russia as their number 1 center. Rubstov was just brought to the QMJHL to get his development on a faster track because he was being wasted in the KHL/MHL.
The rebuild is happening faster than you see. This year might be bad. It might be another first round playoff exit. Guess what, That's what this team was expected to do this season.

No Hextall is praised for not overreacting and sticking to a plan. You make moves to help him out when you think your team has a legitimate shot at it, if you can make a few moves. This team is not at that point. Their top defenseman is 19 years old! MacDonald is playing 20+ minutes a game! Their goaltending is currently crap. They need to substantially upgrade their depth. They're not a move or two away!
