Hopefully the Flyers are at work today! A 4 hour practice. - PLindbergh31

best offensive line you'll ever see and they can't hold it together for the playoffs - 2Real
Rodgers is so good. That throw he made on the sideline yesterday was incredible. He's the only QB in the NFL that can make that throw. That was insane. He's the most physically talented QB I've ever seen. Mobility, accuracy, arm strength, command of an offense. He's unbelievable. |

I was a big fan of Lauridsen....and still thinks someone should give him a shot.
Kent Huskins did yeo mans work when he was here, all without a complaint. - Just5
At no time was Lauridsen NHL caliber.

You Sir, are correct. Can't wait to see what they look like once Simmons joins the party.

That was tough to swallow. And 2000 was worse. Flyers win the Cup if that hit doesn't happen. They would have beaten the Stars. |

Yup. The highlight of the 04 run was beating those (frank)ers. |

Yep! Esche outplaying Brodeur was fantastic. 2010 they beat them as well. Carcillo.

I got ya, and you're probably right. D usually take longer to develop than forwards. But as some mentioned earlier, I wouldn't mind seeing Leier get another chance and Cousins should be in the lineup every game. I also want to see Laughton hopefully get another shot before the end of the season.
The Flyers had some pretty good success in 84-85 with kids like Tocchet, Smith, Zezel, etc.., none of them spent any time in the AHL at all. - BiggE
i don't think Hak has the same size shoes as Keenan did to kick those kids in the nads to get the most out of them....

But, to your point, they may want to let him play more meaningful minutes at the AHL level. But a guy like Weal will do little to improve his game by racking up points in the AHL.
Also, in my opinion, Hextall errs too much on the side of caution with his young players. Yes, let them develop in the AHL and don't shuttle them back and forth. But at the same time, they need to show that they can handle the NHL at some point. You can't keep them in the AHL forever.
Yes, yes, I know, the coaches "know" more than we do, but it's my opinion. - jmatchett383
(agreeing with you) NHL coaches, GM's and scouts know more than us but that doesn't mean they don't make mistakes and wrong decisions at times. also sometimes the cap, roster, waiver situation comes into play. I don't think its always as simple as saying if they thought he would help they would call him up. Maybe they aren't giving a kid like Leier a longer look because they simply don't want to risk losing a player via waivers and don't want to send the one player down who doesn't have to go through waivers. |

The Flyers just waived and sent Gordon down. Hextall has repeatedly said that when a young player is ready and will improve the team, he will make the moves necessary to bring that player up. It's not about infallibility. They know their players, and who is ready, and who can improve the team. If they thought Leier was that player, he would be on the team.
