Only D pairing that looks good there is maybe the first one. I don't think anyone wants Morin up here with this poop going on. - feelingkettle
I want Morin up. This D is softer than wet toilet paper |

remember Matt the goat Carle
he's currently unemployed because no other team in the NHL wants him. Same would happen to Andrew Macdonald. - Flyers Time
Carle is he still a good skater |

I don't think it's a reach to say he wouldn't be better than half of that d core. |

Waive Schultz, call up Morin:
Provorov-Gudas
MDZ-Streit
Morin-Ghost
AMac and Manning can share popcorn in the press box - BiggE
Morin Ghost - give a rookie a d partner with no confidence right now. Doesn't seem like a great idea to me. |

Hasn't MacDonald been scratched this season, too? Ghost is a disaster defensively right now, and his negatives outweigh his positives at the moment.
This may be controversial, but I think AMac has a better defensive game at the moment than Ghost. Which is pretty (frank)ing sad. - feelingkettle
He does, but Mac is not playing in this league after his contact is done.
Ghost is a kid who needs time, and has a chance to grow. MacDonald is a sack of poop. Known quantity. |

This team is so bad, they should be scouting their alumni tonight for upgrades |

I also don't think it's a reach that Hextall thinks Morin is better served on a very good Phantoms team with the other up and coming prospects, and would benefit him more long term than being up here right now.
Keep in mind Provorov made the team this year, and Morin did not. Hextall is obviously not against keeping young guys up here if they deserve it. |

It's simply not true. Ghost just handles the puck more because he's a playmaker. It's easier to remember his mis-plays than a guy like MacDonald who just dumps the puck to center ice.
Does the defense look better today without him? |

Perhaps playing Ghost with a partner that can defend and will keep guys off of him would quickly improve his confidence |

It's possible. Wanting him down there to be a part of a winning culture.
I'd disagree though because he brought up ghost last season when the team was playing terribly. |

Ghost's positioning has been atrocious without the puck. I'm not even talking about his turnovers. His pinches have been at terrible times. |

Agreed. The "Ghost is a trash defensive player" narrative is getting old. |

He brought Ghost up because of an injury. He played so well that they kept him up. Even when playing well, Hextall said he hated having him up here. Again, Hextall is in for the long term instead of reactionary, "we suck, call everyone up" quick fixes that a lot of Flyers fans love.
Sadly, we just have to wait out the AMac era. |

He is bad defensively right now.
Sitting him is not helping, and it's comical that you do it when you have Manning, MDZ, a 39yr old Streit and Mac in his place.
They look much better tonight without Ghost. |
