Last nights game was probably the Islanders best of the season as far as attempts for vs against and total possession. That said it was against Florida so take that for what it's worth.
Let's see if they can out possess and out attempt the Canes tonight and find some consistency.
We should also see Berube in the net tonight. - nyisles7
Did you watch the 2nd period? If not for an amazing game by Greiss, they would have blown the lead and gotten buried. If not for JT & Leddy's unstoppable goals that game was headed down the crapper. They totally took their foot off the pedal after getting the 2-goal lead. The "Gawds" were on their side last night—vs. a team with key injuries.

Sad thing is he won that fight too. Now read this quote wtf
“He understands he’s not going to play every game, but we felt like we needed a boost,” Capuano said of Beauvillier, who has played 27 of the team’s 40 games. “With three games in basically 2 ½ days, I think a few guys are going to get a chance.”
So you need a boost and bring him in otherwise he sits what a moron - Upstate_isles
So you occasionally want to play the ONE player that busts his add every shift. I was glad to see zippy stood by his word about sitting some vets and sat. ................Prince! Again.
What a (frank)ing moron. |

God forbid he should take any responsibility. He still thinks his system is fine because he doesn't know any other systems. (frank)ing dumb as a box of hammers. |

If we had square asses we would Shat bricks.
Come on give credit their numbers were the best of the season.
That said 16 I did say it's against the Panthers so let's see if it continues here against the Canes.
Look this season is done I am as pissed as anyone but you have to give them credit for last night effort and game play. |

Bottom of the league pp, PK, lowest in the league or close to in all stats. Yeah it's not the system. I haven't watched more than a few mins of a game in almost two months. I can't believe there are still people even semi interested in this shat. (frank)ing clown show |

I don't ever accuse the players of not trying. The problems all stem from Coach & GM—their roster & systems decisions. (did you see the 5-on3 we had? It was almost a 5-on-2 as TWICE a Panthers stick was broken for about 1:30 of the PP & they still had Strom & Bailey on the ice with 1st unit. 2 players who prefer NOT to shoot)
I agree the team has talent and sometimes in spite of the horrible guidance they are given will prevail. Just not often enough. Yes, tonight will be revealing to see what kiind of game they play—but i do believe their record is representative of the team we are talking about and the Coach & GM are responsible for alot of their failure. |

Close to last in the league in PP & PK, but let's sit Beau or prince. "That will show those lazy vets I mean business". (frank)ing moron. I brought up the other day about Mike Sullivan adding his PK needed to be better but it started with him being better. Zippy just deflects blame to everyone else. |

I swear watching Bailey play, the ice is tilted. He skates to his own zone like "oh man, this is such a steep hill". Then it shifts to offense and he's like the pig from the Geico commercials, "weeeee, we're going downhill". Worthless slug. |

16 bottom line this GM and coach need to go. I don't think anyone who is a fan of this team can argue that. Unfortunately for me it's about 5 years over due, if indeed they change these two this off season.

So after praising this team after last nights effort and wondering if they would continue the good play, watching the first period tonight the answer is no.
Outshot, out chanced out possessed, and the turn overs in the defensive zone and neutral are back to normal.
Difference is Greiss once more. So lucky to have a 2-1 lead. But really nothing to be happy about.

It's the breaks fault they decided not to play defense tonight. What is that 25 shots for Carolina thru half the game? |

I was to early giving this team credit last night 44.
I should have known it was more the Cats being a pathetic team vs The Islanders being better, but their possession numbers and attempts were good but tonight we are back to being shat.
Ward is not the goalie he once was eh? |

They played well last night and deserve credit for it, but the problem with this team (and every Cappy coached team) is the consistency. Win 3, then lose 4.
And they should absolutely be trying to re-sign Greiss. This game could be 5-3 or 6-3 easily now. |

I've only watched a few minutes of this game and cannot take the olay defense. JT is just horrible in the defensive zone along with many other players on this team. |
