Last year if someone would have said I would swap Isles entire roster for one of the bottom teams like Toronto, Winnipeg, Columbus, Calgary, etc. they would have been laughed at. This year that statement is not so funny. How many teams wouldn't you swap entire rosters with? Maybe 2 or 3 at most?
Kind of sums up the job that Snow is doing. And Isles are a cap ceiling team to boot! - karljans

Why do I think the Hurricanes have a shot at the playoffs?
They play the Islanders 5 more times this year. - BINGO!

cant get the quotes to work, but in response to the guy saying trade JT: If JT wants to resign, you resign him ASAP. Centers like him don't grow on trees, and you're just going to be chasing his replacement.
That said, if he won't resign, yeah you have to capitalize |

great Blog Noel.
Seidenberg and Chimera should be unloaded. Seidenberg will cost a lot more to resign and I think we have plenty of good dman to fill in for him. Mayfield had an unbelieve 2 games filling in and cappy rewarded him back to Bridgeport.
Chimera is affordable contract and could help a team with depth.
Yes you hearing it here - Bailey should be unloaded. I don think he bad players but he lack Fire and willingness to win. If any combo Strome, Barzal, Pulock , MDC and JHS can be moved for a established players like Duchene they should do it.
If they trade Greiss, they will just show how stupid they are. This guy has been great since putting on Islanders uniform. Extend him. |

Put it this way, If Flyers had Greiss's goaltending they would be 1st place in East. |

Trading some assets early can be beneficial & better return.
Seidenberg & Greiss should be shopped NOW.... |

If the fans want to see action taken, then an upcoming home game, fans must unite and walk out of arena midway in the 1st period. Let ownership, media, players, etc digest that embarrassment..... |

This would be a great thing to see. It should not be hard to organize with social media. |

Welcome aboard the clown car. Hope you have a pie and a bottle of seltzer. Sadly, humor and mockery of management is all we have left. |

It's not going to work because the majority of the BC crowd are random people - tourists, some school groups, etc. Less than half are real islanders fans.

No action will be taken. This team was a disaster at the beginning. Always will be with Jack and GArth around. - kasperrko
Been saying the same for years....this team will not contend under Garth. He does not have the ability to make the right decisions for the team. He is all about his reputation and doing it "his way" at any cost. Having an unproven minor league coach and hiring all the recently retired players is a clear indicator that Garth wants No One in his employ who will question his decisions. He's surrounded by YesMen. He learned this first-hand from Wang.
As per Staples article regarding players quitting - I will say this: An athlete's pride will force them to always contend but when you do not believe in the coaches/leaders it effects you in SOME way and no matter who you are, if you're unhappy on the inside, it will creep its' way into your game on the outside. You start to look around and see others not giving 110% and you start to ask yourself, "Why should I risk my neck(body) for this fool?" |
