Seems odd. There isn't a high water table is there? Seems like the perfect place to build a basement. Cool and dry
- mdw7413

No. We have what they call flood plains though. And every quarter century, allegedly, there is a major flood. 1983 was the last major flood. There is a "river" that runs through the north side of town. It's dry unless it rains. In '83 there were several houses that fell in during the flood. That in and of itself wasn't funny, but there were a lot of rednecks there with coolers and lawn chairs watching and cheering. So I guess we're due for another flood next year. The other reason they don't do basements is because of the ground itself. There's a thick layer of caliche (pronounced ka-lee-chee) That is difficult to get through. It would add a lot of additional costs to builders to dig. Not to mention that they put these new houses 8' apart, so I'm not sure about ground stability. With post-tensioned slabs, they just have to put up forms, lay down the cables, pour the concrete, tension the cables and they're done. Very little ground prep is required.

Pretty good pod cast, first time I listened to these guys.

They wouldn't have picked JT for the ASG but their pick is gonna be loved around here.

Am I the only one who is wondering how they'd film a scene with Chewbacca in it?

I like listening to their podcast. They have good rants like we do. I love JT, but he has not had a good year. I did not like their choice for the ASG.

If I wanted to "promote" something this would be the last place I would post it.

But thanks for the laugh I needed that

I am stuck watching the Panthers broadcast of the game, so I need you guys to keep me abreast of Butchie's commentary.

Denis Potvin had some nice things to say about Jiggs. Denis is a pretty good commentator...............but he's no Butchie.

JimmyP has now taken up the argument with Tanner. Pretty funny poop. Tanner is a moron. He quotes experts, then when you challenge him with logic he gets condescending and says ask the experts.
- Isleshockeyman

Normally I would just ignore posts like he was making, but his response to you was so douchey I couldn't leave it alone (not that I was defending your honor or anything like that). I thought I would have more time to get into it with him but then some work issues came up that I had to address.

Denny knows the game for sure and speaks well.

Butchie is the best
