Kinda sounds like Luke Schenn, a guy who just dominated at other levels because he was athletically better than them, then got lost when everyone else was as good or better athletically.

To be honest, I think Okafor might be worse.

I agree. I'm just saying I can't fault him 100%.
- VladDrag

Yep. It's a thing where I understand (to an extent) why didn't think he was doing anything wrong, but at the same time, he should have realized he was doing something wrong, if that can make any sense.

I haven't seen much of him. But what I've heard, both on and off the court, has not been very positive.

I wouldnt regret anything if I was him.

He got to travel the world, made money no one person should ever have, and I bet you slept with basically any chick he wanted.

I take that over my pimply and horny teenage years any day.

I love Steven Tyler/Aerosmith.

Same, but my dislike of Weird Al and Jim Carey is very strong.

Shooting is not his best skill, but he is still plenty good at it. Shooting can be refined as well. Look at Lebron. Simmons combination of size, skill, athletic ability and knowledge are just insane. He does things other players would never try, and he does it effortlessly..

- jak521

6'10" and many are talking about him as a point guard. He can play any position on the floor from the 1 to the 5.

I think Ideally having him at the 3 would create matchup nightmares for everyone.

Couldn't he have done that all without some of his more famous exploits?

What are those?

Honestly I dont really know. I think he walked off stage once when someone threw something at him. I'd have done the same too.

Bieber is done man. I have not heard anything about him, and he seems to be fading. Most of the poopty one's do with time.

Speaking of celebs, the gf went to Hawaii for xmas with family, somehow got into this hotel "concert" that wasn't really a concert if you get my drift.

Weird Al, Steven Tyler and some other no name singers. Jim Carrey of all people did a duet with Steven Tyler.

- flyer_nutter

As much as I dislike Bieber I can assure you he is not done nor fading. His most recent song just went double platinum in US and triple platinum in others.

I know that there's more to basketball than shooting, but if a guy is a "generational talent" like people say, shouldn't he be able to shoot? Shouldn't being able to shoot well be part of that, and be something that you have learned to do if you're that good?

It's not a direct comparison, but that's like saying Sidney Crosby would be a generational talent if he couldn't score goals.

- jmatchett383

If you have the ball in your hands all the time, it's not imperative that you be a great shooter. You just need to put shooters around him. There are a bunch of top 15 players who aren't good shooters too. Giannis, Jimmy Butler, Lebron, John Wall, Westbrook.

Nah, you don't sound like me. If you did, you would post that 10 game win streaks in the NHL are out of the norm. Since you interpret data for a living, how many 10 game win streaks have there been in the last 3 NHL seasons? How about the last 5 or 10 seasons?
- MJL

So I got bored and looked at the 2015 season data. I did this last night. I used 3 wins in a row as a minimum criteria for a win streak.

There were 75 3 game win streaks, 40 4 game win streaks, 15 5 game streaks, 8 6 game streaks 3 7 game streaks 1 8 game streak, 4 9 game streaks...

There were 3 win streaks greater than 10 games, but none actually 10 games. (FLA and CHI had 12 game streaks and ANA had an 11-game win streak).

All of that math gives you a weighted average of 4.08 games. Which means, if Team A wins 3 games, on average they would win about one more game. Statistically speaking, 95% of win streaks would fall in a range of 0.5-7.65 games per win streak.

The next thing to do is to go and see how many win streaks there are in the last 10 years, and see on average how often they occur per season. But, I really don't want to do that.

Also, to be clear, I never said that 10 game win streaks were not out of the norm, the comment I made was that you cannot replace data with other data to 'normalize' it, despite how much of an anomaly it may seem.

No but I would like to go fishing with those two.

Carrey in Dumb and Dumber is one of my favourite acting performances. Tyler is just a very random person from what I can tell. He has an acoustic version of "amazing" out there on youtube.

Such a good song.

His dabble with country music was one of the most awkward and uncomfortable videos ive ever watched on youtube

I'm going to ask something, and not sure if we have anyone that can answer here.

I've long though that the main reason songs these days, or artists for that matter make it big is purely because of their record companies. The money and influence from those.

I found a vast amount of great singer/songwriter music on Itunes that will never hit the radio.

Went to the Anne Frank Museum and signed the book saying, "She would have been a belieber."
Banged a bunch of hookers.
Everything related to his driving (included spitting a loggie at a sherriff who pulled him over for going 100 MPH in a gated community)
Abandoning his pet in Germany for not bringing and then not getting proper documentation.

Having him at the 4 would be a disaster for most opposing teams. Running 4/5 pick and rolls with Simmons and Embiid will be devastating. I also want Simmons close to the basket on defense so he can get rebounds and just run.

I started playing goalie using soccer shin guards, a baseball glove, soccer goalie glove as a blocker, and almost anything i could find as a chesty, along with my habs roy replica mask.

Getting the mylec leg pads was revolutionary

Looking back I think that is the number one reason I have absolutely zero technique haha

They want a singer who fits the model, can make their way through a song as long as they studio can mask any problems they have, and hope for a hit. Sure, people like Christina Aguilera can actually sing, but for the most part, it's just finding another plastic body who can kind of sing, put a catchy beat behind it, and churn out a hit.
