Really gotta wonder about the chances of Mason returning next year if he hovers around this 2.80 and b/w a .900-.910. How much do you really want to pay for that(and be tied into a longer term contract) when odds are you'll get that for a lot cheaper in Stolarz? A Stolarz/Neuvirth tandem wouldn't be outside the realm of possibility.

He hasn't been great this year, but he's been hung out to dry a lot.

For arguments sake I will say I agree with you (i dont though). He still makes a bad decision and an even worse pass.

Even if all 4 of the other skaters simultaneously fell flat on their faces, he could have flipped the puck out of the zone.

- jak521

There are 4 Sabres in the lane he needs to send that through and one directly behind him creating pressure. Everyone is acting like the sky high dump out of the zone is some easy play that can be made under pressure. It's not, that's why a lot of delay of game penalties happen.

Can't beat those prices! And I'd get a Provorov jersey if I were to buy one. Sky is the limit for that kid. I believe he's got a chance to become the best D-man in Flyers history.
- PLindbergh31

I know considering they are charging people like 150.00 or more. Ridiculous

I'm seriously in love with Provorov. I still can't believe the kid is soon to be 20. He is so poised and smart and has the skills to go along. outside of the disaster of a Hawks game he really makes few mistakes. He rarely throws the puck away. Always looks to make a play. the only knock is he does seem to whiff a bit in the O zone but I think that part of his game will continue to get better. its hard to believe he and Werenski were passed over by NJ

What happened on the 20th and 30th seasons, 86/87 and 96/97? I'm a bit hazy there.

It can't be made under that sort of pressure by me. By a guy playing top pair (or even bottom pair) minutes in the NHL, it better damn well be.

Flyers season plan members got the jersey free but they socked us 90 for the lettering and then 10 for the 50th patch

You mean passing from the left side of the goal line to the right point with 10 skaters in the defensive zone isnt a wise idea?

I mean what could possible go wrong there?

So chip the puck out of the zone. An NHL defender given the time he had should be able to do this.
- jmatchett383

Where is he chipping the puck? To the wall his own teammate is clogging? or in between 3 sabres holding the blue line?

If my choices are Mason or Neuvy I am going with Mason. I just am not sold on Neuvy holding up. I feel good about Stolie being the backup.

I am a mens league d-man who is forced to make that same play 125 times a game. Literally

Instead of the hesitant pump, lift it out. Drag it towards yourself and flip it in the air out of the danger zone. Or else just wrist it out as hard as you can. Ice it. Start over.

Up to the neutral zone in the air. I'm not NHL defenseman, but even with a forechecker, I can probably do this competently, maybe 3/10 times.

Even if he fails, the option he chose was the worst of the possible choices.

Im with you on this.

I can't believe how many people seem to forget that Neuvy has fairly consistently been injured over the course of his career and has had been traded from a few teams.

Masons numbers arent great but look at a game like last night where of the 3 goals scored Im not sure which any goalie had a chance at making.

Oh I was agreeing with you when you said you have to make that play 125 times a game. I just meant its a pass pro players make all the time. He made a bad pass. it happens. I think the hard stance on blaming him started because of his comments that made it sounds like he was blaming every one else. I know that irked me...own your mistake

I want to see more Stolarz on the Flyers this year. We talk about bringing kids like Morin, Sanheim, etc. up. But they have a prospect that is ready to see NHL ice right now and it's Stolarz. He'll be 23 in a week. I want him to get 15 -20 games in but its not going to happen. Need to find out more about him. Mason is going to get a long term contract with serious money and while I like him, I don't know if that's the right move for the Flyers. Time to take the diapers off hopefully Neuvirth gets moved if he can get some games in and show his worth

Plus most players get a bye week for the AS break anyway.
And why have a bye week when the schedule is already compressed due to the WCoH?
