How many of those 13 ES goals scored were MacDonald's fault? Was anyone else on the ice? Were those goals scored on any other players watch? - MJL
Your love affair with anyone worthy of criticism is duly noted.
Defend Andrew MacDonald last night.
Defend him on the PK.
Defend him being used over 16 minutes a night and on the top pairing.
If you can do those three I will never speak ill of him again. |

I don't think it's that easy.
I want Morin and leier playing meaningful games.
For me I would try to reshape the NHL roster and prepare for next season and the year after for when the team should start seeing the benefits of some drafts and start becoming not just a bubble team but an actual playoff team. - J35Bacher
To me a little under half a season here and maybe a playoff series is meaningful. This also staggers Morin and Sanheim's arrival. I want Sanheim here to start next season. So I think it's time to bring up Big Sam and let him show some people what he can do. Hopefully that includes using his size to change the open for business sign at our blue line for opposing teams to read CLOSED go home! |

I get it.
I also feel that playing in the AHL playoffs can be meaningful for young players. They play top minutes and all situations.

# 47 is what he is....a serviceable D man. As some have stated he has had stretches where he has sucked but has also given them some good minutes. His contract blows, but he is here for the foreseeable future. Honestly if he's playing in a third group pairing 12 minutes a night no one is going to mention his name unless the ugly contract effects the team.
as far as Wiese .....I get the signing...some size ...some speed and some toughness. He just has played like crappola....I hope some of the kids currently in the minors get a shot this year....Laughton, Morin, Weal, Leirer and maybe even Sanheim late in the year...I look at a team like the Leafs this year....got rid of all the dead wood. playing all the rookies and a highly entertaining team to watch. Hopefully the second half see's a changing of some of these guys. |

or the sign that says ..."hey you can run our goalie and sit in the crease and have a cup of tea while we sing cumbia, anything else I can get for you while you wait for the puck to come to the crease just ask, thanks come again" |

Jeez, this team needs a trade just to shake things up, they seem to spend half of every game on cruise control.
The day that they can ice a team without any of AMac, Schultz, Streit, Read, Weise, VdV, PEB, Gordon on it cannot come soon enough. And this doesn't excuse the rest of the bunch. Outside of Provorov and Simmonds and the goalies who are constantly hung out to dry, the rest of this lifeless bunch needs to take a long look in the mirror.
At this point, Id rather miss the playoffs than squeak in as the 8th seed and get bounced in the first round. It's not even about the draft pick, it's more about giving management a wake up call. There are way to many passengers on this team! |

Not that exact deal but get a promising young player who will be entering his prime when the team is more playoff ready compared to a older player who might be past it at that time. - J35Bacher
Oh okay.. I was gonna say. That proposal would be preposterous.
Only way I am moving G is if I can get a young top 6 center who is just breaking through, a top forward prospect and a pick.

Laughton and Weal to me are meh more of the same of 78-76.
I'd let Sanheim stay in the AHL for the full season. Morin had his full season last year so I'm good with him getting his cup this season in the NHL since he's looking like ready by the reports we are hearing. I'd love to put Sam beside Ghost and give them second pair minutes behind Provorov and Gudas. Yes that makes pair 3 MDZ and Manning. Cause I've sent Amac and Schultz packing to get Morin up to the big club and make sure he's getting to play every night.
Wouldn't we all love to see
12-28-93
11-14-17
58-10-24 or 25
76-78-13
9-3
53-50
15-23
And let the goalies have the fight of their lives for the net which if both stay healthy would be fun to see. |

It would also have to be a team who thinks they are close and where he would be willing to waive his NMC for.

YES! That needs to go also. This D corp is weak at the line and in front of the net. Sam should help on both accounts. |

ACK! I'll fix it!
I guess I omitted him because I felt sorry for him working his ass off and having to play with the coasting teammates he's got. |

There are far smarter ways to go about it. |

As much as I can't stand him on other teams Bobby Ryan would look good here.
Cousins is ok as a pest but he ain't cracking this lineup so bring in one that Hak will have to play. |

No matter how you slice it our bottom 6 is basically a bottom 4th and 5th line on any good team. |

See I don't know.
Last night I watched and for me I think Voracek is the catalyst of this team more then Giroux.
I think if you got a promising young center who is ready to break out plus other pieces you could shape the roster to be better with more depth for when the team is closer to being a playoff contender, not just a bubble team. |

Anyone else notice in the last few games how both Giroux and Jake didn't back check or overstayed shifts...or both....
.... will they get benched? Cousins and Konecny were both benched for less blatant plays. |

I was at last nights game... all around ugly game.
Simmonds was invisible, Ghost looked good on the PP and is quite a skater, Manning got thumped in a fight, and Mason made some big stops... but wasn't stealing the game away. |

But hey if vdv gets us Bobby Ryan sure why not. I think the sens might have to add a second or third to give us proper value in return |

Did you trade Simmonds? - J35Bacher You probably should as opposed to Giroux like someone else said. He's going to get you your most bang for your buck for the future.
