I didn't suggest it was Bennings fault, I just simply said the Canucks haven't drafted well, so to your point, there's no one pushing the Sedins out the door like Washington has in Kuznetzov, Johansson, Burakovsky and Vrana.
- LeftCoaster

I disagree

I think Canucks under Benning have drafted well. Canucks under Gillis is a different story.

I think Boeser Juolevi Demko Lockwood Brisebois all have a good chance of playing NHL hockey. I am sure there will be one or two surprises also from the rest of his picks,

Benning's 2014 draft....5 of his 7 picks have the potential to make the NHL, or are, or have played in the NHL.

We need more of those drafts!

- Kaynine

And to think, he also traded away a 2nd and 3rd round pick from that draft. Could've been the best draft class ever in terms of kids that made the show.

Ovechkin ties Rocket Richard tonight and he's now at 999 points, one of the best pure scorers ever.

Cassels may not make it. But Granlund is easiest solution if not lost to Vegas. Then Guadette is looking good in college. Guance if pressed with Labate possible on 4th. Also, maybe this years draft pick. But then the great Chaput might factor in too

I know I will sound overly optimistic but 4 centre's drafted in the last 2 years. Maybe not big names nut out of Zhukenhov, Gaudette, Abols and McKenzie we might get a #2 (I like what little I have seen from McKenzie)

Yes but still only prospects til they prove otherwise

Why do we need to draft our #1/2 center? We will have approx 42 mil in cap space in 2018/2019. I'm pretty sure we can find one that will fit the bill.

Like your thinking. Safe bet is if any of them can play 3/4 C post Hank that would be a score for JB. Sutter was traded for and extended to fill 2C UNTIL another is drafted. Then the question would be later can that drafted player push Bo for 1C? We are all good there, right?

That's a two-way street and not many great Ufa centres wanna play for another poopty team, they wanna win.

Just my opinion but I think we will trend up now not down.

I think this is our rock bottom . Sedins have done nothing for 8 games and we have won 6 of them with the young players.

I feel with the addition of Boeser next year and Ericksson Sutter Gudbrandson getting more comfortable with their roles and players like Hutton Tryamkin just improving will all come in to play.

Who says we will be a poopty team. As sad as this is, we are competing for the playoffs with this roster.

Or maybe he's just not ready yet and was rushed in or maybe just not as good of a player as JB thought.

I could of sworn you had McCann penciled in as #1C not that long ago...Not trying to be a huge Richard but my point being we don't know what these kids are yet or what they will be in the future.

Other than Horvat they are all still mysteries IMO.

- belcherbd

That's fair to say. Prospects just show potential and they need to be played to know what we have and prove it ike Bo.
