If everything goes according to plan...Hexy will have too many prospects and will be unable to sign any poopty UFAs saving himself from himself - YuenglingJagr
That would be nice Lets just hope they make the right moves when it counts. |

Not one Flyer in the top 60 - aantny88
there are if you account for all situations (not just 5v5)
I want them to score at 5v5 as much as the next guy, but it isnt the only way to win games or be good |

It's almost 50/50 using the 50% mark as a divider this year in most of the %for stats. So yes he's getting hammered a decent amount. |

I don't think it's tough to tell at all. Strengthening lines 2, 3, and 4 is far more important than adding a 1st line winger. Raffl is fine in that spot in my opinion. Now they could add another player to put in that spot, and use Raffl to help in strengthening the lower lines, but I wouldn't bring in a big cap hit player for that spot. - MJL
How will they improve those positions? I can think of one bona fide scoring forward in the pipeline (Lindblom) and not much else after that. D and goalies are solid for years to come. Hexy doesn't seem inclined to do much in free agency or trade, so I guess it'll be left up to the draft, which may take some time. By then, G may be past his prime. |

Sure it is. You must discount all PP goals as random flukes and only use 5v5 stats to evaluate life. |

Couldn't agree more about 5v5 not being the only stat that matters and the PP is really important, especially to guys like G and Simmer for production. Unfortunately when you only get 1pp in a game (last night), it makes 5v5 that much more important. Guys like 78, 76, 27, 22 don't produce a damn thing no matter what, which is an even bigger issue. |

It is tough to rely on PPs (being great ES would be preferable) but the Flyers do lead the league in getting power plays |

That's happened almost 10 times this season, if you include #22 as a fourth liner |

Yes, but they consistently don't produce, so you know what you're getting, which is apparently better than guys who may or may not produce. |

I do like Landeskog but you are right he does come with a good size cap hit. I don't think Raffl is a first line player but a good 2nd line and very good 3rd line player.
Flyers need more play making or at least another player who can finish, weather that be a first line LW or 2nd line Centre. |

I don't know weather they need an upgrade at 1LW or 2C more, either. It all comes down to weather you think Coots is a legit 2C (aka do you believe in hand-picked #fancystats).
By the way, (frank) this cold ass whether. |

10 games they've be out shot when he's on the ice.
13 games they've out shot the opponent when he's on the ice
3 games it was even.
Those are all situation numbers. |

In the cap world, loading up your 3 best guys on the top line is pointless. The depth needs to be moved throughout the top 9. Raffl, at his cap hit, is a fine first liner and is actually he has been very helpful in making that line click |

I still don't and probably never will understand Hak's love affair with those guys. They need to score more at 5v5, but guys like Cousins, who provides speed, energy and a little scoring, ride the pine. Schultz has as many points as Weise |

So he's facing the toughest matchups and outshooting them on most nights. I don't see the problem. Do you expect him to outshoot the opponent every night? There are other good players in the league too.
Now tell me how many night Bellemare has outshot the opponent |

Drafting and developing takes time. This was always going to be a process. While still a very good player, Giroux is already pretty much past his prime. I think Hextall will use trades and free agency when the timing is right, and the right moves present themselves. |
