I think Hextall is targeting a certain type of player and has swung and missed on his free agent deals.
As far as his trades, trading up for Konecny, the return he got for Kimmo, as well as getting more than a 7th to move out first Pronger and then VLC were all impressive moves. - jmatchett383
He has made moves that worked though. Schultz was good, his latest contract meh but not an issue. Also signed Neuvirth and I really like Lyubimov if they would actually let him play. Development aside, he has made the Phantoms competitive as well
Coots deal is great, Raffl deal is great |

Like that he's made the Phantoms a focal point. Build that winning culture down there as well.
Curious how he handles the goalie thing next summer, and if we stay the course regarding the centers on this team.
Next year should be even more fun, with maybe Morin and Sanheim entering the fold. I wouldnt discount Myers either. |

It's exciting to see Rubtsov play in the Q and then maybe the AHL next year, but there's one thing even more exciting about him coming over.....

He needs playing time. Badly. Thats great to see he was able to come over. How is his Q team? |

He has made some good moves. It's just some that stick out like a sore thumb, specifically Weise, the Rinaldo extension, and although it's a one-year deal, the Gordon signing. His AHL-level moves have been generally good, though. |

The Rinaldo extension got a third round pick.
How does Provorov even skate with AMac on his back all the time? - Baxter27
On the plus side, look at how Ghost's game took off and the points started flowing like a river once MacDonald left his side. |

Now that he's on a CHL roster, he's ineligible for the AHL next year. |

Yes, it was a great trade but, to me, a bad signing. They two are exclusive. |

I do wonder how much the Rinaldo extension had to do with Berube.
Like any VDV extension will have to do with Hak. Have to think coaches advocate. |

Middle of the pack at the moment, but 16 of 18 teams make the playoffs so it's all about getting hot and healthy at the right time. |

The Q seems like the most imbalanced league in sports. When a team gets outscored like 44-6 or whatever in 4 games like Myers' team did last year, there's issues. |

MacDonald is now currently weighing Provorov down. Reports are that MacDonald was a train wreck in his own zone in last night's game. |

Because it's complicated. If you're drafted out of the CHL, that rule applies. If you go to the CHL after your drafted, it's voided. You can even be drafted out of the CHL but technically be on "loan" from a European team and the rule be voided, like with Alex Nylander playing in the AHL right now. |

I actually think MacDonald has kind of turned himself into a tradable asset. Might not bring a huge amount back but could be moved or even taken in the expansion draft.
Not saying it's a high possibility but better odds now I believe.
If they could somehow move MacDonald I would be more inclined to resign Del Zotto |

hmm, didn't know that. I guess since the AHL isn't technically "stealing" the player since he wasn't there when drafted, it's not a big deal. The "loan" thing seems shady, though. |

Well he's certainly a more tradable commodity playing 20 minutes in the NHL then playing in the AHL. His contract is still a hindrance, and would likely require salary retention to be able to trade him.
Del Zotto has had a few strong games lately. |

The AHL moves have been a little obvious...basically just signed career AAAA players, but I do like that he wants to win in the AHL.
Prospects are just awesome. I love it. What he has done to the prospect pool is incredible. All without tanking too |
