Why do you think I used Jim from Taxi the next day? Cappy needs a coach himself so how could he coach players? This weekend and his appearance should have been the last straw. - ses111
But it won't be. |

IHM, you don't need to get shat for Bailey and Kuli, getting rid of their cap $ is a win. You need a team that is looking to add salary a pick or prospect, however that takes balls and confidence or just being ok with making a mistake but our GM doesn't have the resolve to do this.
The Hawks, Pens, Kings etc.etc.etc. do it. When your a successful team the cap will cause you to make these types of moves to keep your core players there.poop Red Wings traded Datsyuk and the guy wasnt going to play in the NHL.
As far as the Stamos excuse and thats all it is is an excuse. You need to have a plan in case you don't get Stamkos or your standing with your d1ck in your hand, which at the end Garth was. On Frans how could he assume Frans was staying? You need to be in touch with you player and his agent and know whats going on there can't be any guessing. This guy failed in this off season and failed miserably
I am done with this team as well until Bert and Ernie are gone. After the 2 OT losses to the worst teams in the league, I find myself routing for them to lose which I never thought I would do.
Hence the ranting about this poopty GM and all his cronies. I'm done I can't be more frustrated about this team than i am right now
Nothing personal towards anyone here its a by product of being a fan of this organization that just can't seem to get it right. Hopefully this off season will be a step in the right direction and L&M clean house. - nyisles7
So I brought this over from the other thread because I didn't know he had responded to my post. So:
Bailey & Kuli - if you can get something for them, fine, but who wants them? It's one thing to dump salary on another team, but find one that wants them. Edm, Ott, Win, NJ, Fla, and Carolina are the only ones that couls realistically fit them both under the cap according to cap friendly. That includes teams LTIR. Send one here and one there, fine, but if they only send, let's say a 7th, then they would have to clear a roster spot. Sometimes it's easier said than done.
Stamkos - Snow is an idiot and did not have a plan. Well, he did have a plan. The only thing was it didn't pan out that way. He didn't have a contingency plan.
Frans - Snow's ego led him to think that Frans would re-sign. Snow is an idiot.
Make no mistake. I do not, in any way, shape or form, defend the thought process, moves or plans that the idiot has or has had. I agree with you that this past off-season was a disaster. I did feel that Ladd was an upgrade over KO and Chimera was an upgrade over Martin. While Chimera is a better player than Martin, Snow had a big swing and a miss. I definitely would have preferred, and thought they should have, kept KO & Frans and added to the core, as you've eluded to many times. This season has wasted another year of JT and others' contracts. Crappy should've been gone in October (I never thought he should have been hired In the first place). Snow's ass should never had hit the GM chair. We are in agreement that this house should get thorough cleaning come April 10th. New HoPO announced on April 11th. New GM and coaching staff announced shortly thereafter. If these steps are not taken, I will not watch any games next season. I generally go to Phoenix to watch one game a year, when the Isles come to town. I am so glad that I didn't spend ±$400 on tickets, hotel and gas, plus food and beer.

I think Ledecky has not handled things well this season. I've said many times I would not want to start my first year as an owner like this. He should have at least pressured Garth to fire Cappy during the early season struggles. Letting the season fall apart without any moves cannot happen when you are coming off the first playoff win in 23 years. Some bold type of moves were needed from Ledecky. He needed to show this is not Wang's Isles anymore. He better get this offseason right. - ses111
I would have thought that McPhee was there last year & a half to asses the situation for the new owners. When he took the Vegas job, it worried me. Apparently he didn't give the truth to L&M. Either way, they are taking their time which is getting riskier & riskier as JT is not used to losing and being around a losing mentality. The fact that Coach & GM are still in place weighs on the players & how they feel & react to "doing their jobs." On the surface it's all positive cliches when they lose but I GUARANTEE they are thinking & discussing different things that are obvious to all.
L&M....tick tock. |

Strome has been a real disappointment since his rookie season. I would love to see him with a real coach just to be sure, but he doesn't look good.
Ladd I'm willing to give more time to adjust. He's has a proven track record. It's hard to imagine he landed in NY then instantly started to suck. - JimmyP
Yes but like most other FA's on this team, they've earned a contract based on past performances and are coming up woefully short with their new team.
Also, the loss of Matt Martin has impacted the "Best 4th Line in Hockey" in the worst way...CC & CC hare BOTH having little or no impact with their new 4th line partner(who makes WAY MORE than Martin would have taken to stay) and he (Kuli) is not even helping keep that line as good as it was as he plays a different game than MM. |

What did Martin Do? He checked. Yes, he led the league in hits. He also took himself out of postion or behind the play going after another hit. We all know he wasn't a scorer. Does the 4th line play differently now? Sure it does. That's coaching. Crappy doesn't know how to game plan with the players he has. He doesn't know how to adapt & adjust. He caught a lucky break and those 3 clicked for some reason. It happens. Successful coaches make changes, they change their systems to suit their players strengths. Maximize the return of players ability. Has Martin not being here an affect on the 4th line? Sure, I'll give you that one. But this team has way bigger issues than Martin leaving.
Nobody on this team has lived up to their contract this season except maybe Seidenberg. Tavares in on pace to have his worst year since his rookie year.
I really would love to see this team with a real coach. See what they could do with someone who knows how to game plan and adjust to players strengths instead of just trying to smash a square peg into a round hole.
This truly is a (frank)ing pathetic season. If the owners can't see this and don't make serious changes, then they're precariously set to lose almost an entire fan base. I'm sure they have, since there's talk of a new PoHO, but I'll believe it when I see it. |

I think they ran out of gas vs Florida. You cant go 7 games in first round and think you will go far.
And the problem is now that we need to swap players. What we needed is another player in addition to Fran, Martin and Nielsen.
I feel like we are running out of time. Tavares isn't going to stay. He is getting overworked out of desperation of Cappy and its wearing him down.
I know Bailey is players that get bashed the most but im most disappointed in Strome and also how bad Ladd and Chimera are. - Spartiarti
The kings won the cup and played 4 7 game series running out of gas isn't an excuse, Bailey has been better but isn't a 1st line guy he's 2nd or 3rd. Stroke at least is looking good better and getting chances. Ladd and chimera are poop
I still say he resigns I know he has to say this stuff but it's who he is he will stay

Tired just does not cut with the Florida series. Isles were overmatched from the start and won because of Greiss and JT. Bailey still does not impress me at all. Strome is playing better and Ladd and Chimera have not been good.
I also think JT will re-sign. He seems to have gone out of his way to let it been known he is not giving up. I have to think he may have received assurances from Ledecky on the president and how things would change. |

The sum is equal to or greater than it's parts.
MM, CC & CC had a chemistry that is hard to quantify.
Just another glaring mistake by Snow for letting a player walk only to "replace" him with a more expensive/less productive(overall) version.
How many ways can you fail before you lose your job with this org? It's a (frank)ing charity hand-out that these idiots are still employed. |

Silly me I though Chimera would be used with CC and CC to form an actual checking line. Chimera probably thought the same thing. Why not use a guy that can actually skate over Martin on that line? |

I don't know....I dont recall Garth explaining his off-season acquisitions publicly. WE can assume what we want but I was referring to Kulimen playing 4th line...tho they all bounce around so much + w/ injury it's hard to tell.
I was meaning Kuli, tho...who was supposed to be a offensively contributing player...not a $4m grinder. |

Listen Upstate I hope he stays don't get me wrong, however he's under contract with the Islanders through the end of of the 2018 season. What else other than what he's saying do you expect him to say? I'm sick of this poop, I can't wait until my contracts up so I can see what else is out there?
The Islanders have an advantage as they can sign him for 8 years where every other teams max term can only be 7.
Its going to be very interesting to see how it turns out however L and M better do something to change the culture of this team and the sooner the better. There are going to be plenty of takers for their franchises golden boy if they don't. |
