funny you said that about ledecky, I met him at preseason game and they brought him to make the pitch to why I should renew. he even gave him his personal business card.

I emailed him and he never wrote back. So careful all those that are so excited about Ledecky being out. B/c maybe Wang wasn't best owner but he tried whatever he could to keep the islanders on LI. These guys could very well move the team out.

Tough losses by isles this weekend. Seems another case of unluckiness.

Show us the pin. He must've liked Ses more than you if you didn't get one.

I guess I was not that special, he did take another guy in suite to get his okposo jersey few letter upgrade. haha.

Im also going to say it now. I miss Okposo and Martin. Maybe neither specifically is reason why we suck but Ladd and Chimera aren't better. This team has lost its identity. Listening to Tavares I get more and more feeling he will not be returning. this is very depressing.

Franz not resigning is making a lot of sense now.

I should hope I was the only one to get a pin. I doubt L&M want to move the team out of NY. NHL would not let it happen anyway. Wang did try to keep the team on LI. Wish he tried harder in terms of GM and coach.

What identity was that? Team that got badly outplayed by Florida and lost in 5 games to a beat up Tampa team? This team had huge problem even with KO, Frans, and Martin. Maybe things would be different keeping those guys with a different coach? How many nights did we complain about this team not ready to play?

That's what I was saying in early October, fire Crappy and make Weight the interim. I also did say to get rid of Snow and make Lou's kid the interim GM. Of course I got blasted by a few people here, but, such is life in the Isles thread. There is absolutely no reason that Ernie should still be coaching right now. As the new owners, if you're going to make statements about accountability and then let this moron still coach, then you're 100% culpable for how this season has played out. I can wrap my head around letting Snow finish out the season in the GM chair, but for Crappy to still be a part of the organization is unfathomable.
- Isleshockeyman

It's pretty clear that Snow will never fire Crappy. If they are back next year I won't be watching. Maybe I'll catch a game or two at a friend's home or a bar, but that's it. I already refuse to spend money on tickets or merchandise.

I think they ran out of gas vs Florida. You cant go 7 games in first round and think you will go far.
And the problem is now that we need to swap players. What we needed is another player in addition to Fran, Martin and Nielsen.

I feel like we are running out of time. Tavares isn't going to stay. He is getting overworked out of desperation of Cappy and its wearing him down.

I know Bailey is players that get bashed the most but im most disappointed in Strome and also how bad Ladd and Chimera are.

Strome has been a real disappointment since his rookie season. I would love to see him with a real coach just to be sure, but he doesn't look good.

Ladd I'm willing to give more time to adjust. He's has a proven track record. It's hard to imagine he landed in NY then instantly started to suck.

It was 6 games and they did not have much gas most of the series. I just think it's fantasy the Isles would go on this great run this year if they brought all three back. They could not bring back all three and add to them without getting rid of salary.

JT should at least be putting pressure behind the scenes for changes to happen. Sometimes being the good solider and just privately sulking is not the answer. Leader and captain of the team needs to step up and hold everyone accountable. I'm not crazy about quite type captains like Kenny Jonsson and Strait. I like more vocal captains.

Strome looks to have a lack confidence. He is not getting the proper support and guidance from the coaching staff.

I agree on Ladd. He cannot be use to this level of lousy coaching.

Strome has been one of their best players the past two weeks. the issue starts with the coaching staff but wayyyyyyy too many players on this team need to be coddled and had their hand held

best player for last two weeks, horrible player this weekend. Still extremely disappointing for last 1 and 1/3 seasons.

I agree, I think Strome isn't broken. A better coash would know what to do with him. Ask Grabner.

Don't disagree on Ladd either but is he better than younger Okposo? Same Money. for the record, I was for some change with getting Ladd, but watching Ladd play now Im thinking his best years cold be behind him. I now miss Okposo.

This is what happens when the coaching staff makes excuses. Players start to buy into it. Strome and the rest of the team needs to be given a system that fits their talent and the communication needs to be better. They need to know why the are not playing and exactly would they need to do to be better players.

I agree 1000 percent... why would you play a corner battle... a cycle game when you have forwards like nelson, strome, prince, quine etc who aren't retrieving the puck

Very disappointing!

JT is a pro and is saying the right things, but why on earth would he sign this July 1st with the Islanders after this year and the fact that all the guys he grew up with on the team are gone? This has been his worst year personally next to his rookie year and the team this year has taken a huge step backwards.
This guy is going to be coveted by so many teams I just don't see him not checking out the FA options out there, ala stamkos I just get the feeling if things aren't changed quickly this off season and in convincing fashion I think he's gone. JT wants to win the Stanley cup and If he feels that The Islanders aren't going to grow towards that goal in reality it doesn't look good for him staying imho.
Talk is cheap so L & M need to prove it with actions not BS and promises.

Especially young players need the coaching staff to be able to break the game down. Cappy just does not seem to be able to do that. You cannot just use words like battle level or heavy game. It's not going to mean much to young players.

Anybody want to go to the meet the team event tonight at Barclays? It's not worth the trip for me from Suffolk. I have two tickets, and it starts at 6.

Are you kidding? He can't even shave or comb his freaking hair for a game. That to me showed just how little he understands the game and his role. You can't expect kids to represent their team in a positive way when the coach can't even be responsible enough to do it. What a reflection on the team and organization. If I'm L&M, that pisses me off right there. I'm not even them and it chapped my hide. Totally unprofessional.

Why do you think I used Jim from Taxi the next day? Cappy needs a coach himself so how could he coach players? This weekend and his appearance should have been the last straw.
