There's guys who are as fast as him in the NHL. He's not fast, but he's not like molasses slow. But he's just soft and plays like a juniors player. Tries to do everything, has no structure to his game other than get puck then do stuff, plays on the perimeter, needs time and space to do anything.

I think he thinks the game slow and that's his biggest weakness. He just floats around unless he has the puck, and then tries to be Junior God when he has it.

Yep. Picked Marner over him, which seemed like a bad idea to a lot of people at the time. People can say that he's a big playmaker and only turning 20 and needs some time, and that's all well and good, but he gives off so many vibes of junior star, average NHLer. The little details and the structure and cycle game is just missing. He plays small and thinks small.
